To remove the old Briefing news panel, turn off the far-left home-screen page: touch and hold an empty area of the home screen, swipe to the leftmost page, and switch off the option shown there. Depending on your Galaxy’s age and software, it may be called Briefing, Flipboard, Bixby Home, Samsung Daily, Samsung Free, or Google Discover. This hides the page; it does not necessarily uninstall an app.
Turn off Briefing on an older Galaxy
On older Samsung phones, the news page may be labeled Briefing, Flipboard, or Bixby Home. Samsung’s instructions for Android 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x use the home-screen edit view:

- Touch and hold an empty area of the home screen.
- Swipe through the home-screen previews to the far-left news page.
- Switch off Briefing, Flipboard, or Bixby, whichever label appears.
- Return to the home screen.
For Android 4.x and 5.x, Samsung’s instructions instead say to open Home screen settings from the edit view and switch off My Magazine or Briefing Flipboard. These are legacy instructions; menu names and availability may not match your phone today. Samsung Kazakhstan’s legacy Briefing instructions

Turn off Samsung Daily, Samsung Free, or Google Discover
The far-left page has changed names across Galaxy generations. Samsung Korea says Bixby Home was called Samsung Daily after the One UI 2.1 update, and Samsung Free replaced Samsung Daily starting with Android 11. Newer home screens may offer Samsung Free or Google Discover instead. Samsung Korea on Samsung Daily and Samsung Free

Samsung’s US instructions cover switching Samsung Free or Google Discover on or off from the relevant home-screen page. Exact choices can vary by model, region, carrier, and software version. If your screen differs, use Samsung’s current home-screen guidance. Samsung also explains how to remove an unwanted home-screen page with its trash icon; deleting a page is not the same as uninstalling its content app. Samsung home-screen page instructions
What “delete” means here
Turning off the page removes the panel from the home screen. It does not establish that the underlying app has been uninstalled or disabled. Google distinguishes removing an app shortcut from uninstalling the app: removing the shortcut takes it off the home screen. Android Help: Add apps, shortcuts, and widgets to your Home screens

If your goal is to uninstall or disable a separate app, the available controls depend on your model and software version; the steps above are for hiding the home-screen page, not for removing an app. Samsung describes Bixby Home as a homepage that displays content from apps. Is Briefing the same as Galaxy AI Now Brief?
No. Briefing and the other names above refer to versions of the far-left home-screen content page. Galaxy AI Now Brief is a distinct, newer feature. The available Samsung guidance does not establish one universal way to turn off Now Brief, so do not assume the legacy home-screen switch controls it. If you mean Now Brief, check the Galaxy AI settings on your specific phone. Samsung’s home-screen and content-page guidance covers Samsung Free and Google Discover, not a universal Now Brief disable route. Samsung home-screen guidance
