Delete sessions with the OpenCode CLI

Open a terminal where the OpenCode CLI is available and run
opencode session list. The CLI reference describes this as listing sessions. To inspect machine-readable output, add--format json; the reference also documents a--max-countoption, so check whether a limit is appropriate before treating the results as a complete list. Review the listed sessions and identify the IDs you intend to remove. If using JSON output for automation, inspect the output produced by your installed version and confirm which field contains each session ID.

Delete each selected session by running
opencode session delete <sessionID>, replacing<sessionID>with the actual ID. The documented command deletes one session per invocation.#1 Best Overall

Can you delete every session with one command?
The reviewed official session-command references document listing sessions and deleting a session by ID, but do not document a dedicated delete-all CLI command. Treat deletion as a per-session operation unless documentation for your installed release says otherwise.
You can automate repeated deletions, but first verify the JSON structure and ID field emitted by your installed version. Then use only the intended IDs with the documented per-ID deletion command. The references do not provide a verified bulk-delete command or shell loop, so do not run an unreviewed script against session data.

What happens to child sessions?
Behavior is not described consistently across the cited documentation. The OpenCode v2 command reference says its deletion example deletes the session and its child sessions; the dev CLI reference describes deleting a session without specifying whether deletion cascades. Check the documentation for your installed version before assuming child sessions will also be removed. OpenCode v2 command reference

If you are working with OpenCode’s server API instead of the CLI, the official server reference documents GET /session to list sessions and DELETE /session/:id to delete a session and its data. The documented delete route takes one session ID, not a bulk-delete request. OpenCode server reference
