Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →First find out what “unpayable” means in the marketplace: a listing can fail a catalog eligibility check, a client can fail to construct a payment, a facilitator can reject verification, or settlement can remain unresolved. These are different failure points. Trace the request through each one before changing your payment configuration or retrying a potentially broadcast transaction.
Identify where the failure occurs
The x402 flow has distinct stages: a server returns payment requirements, a client chooses a compatible option and signs a payment payload, a facilitator verifies it, and settlement follows. A well-formed HTTP 402 response does not establish that a marketplace client supports the offered option or can successfully pay it. The x402 v2 specification describes the payment flow and the separate verification and settlement roles.

Establish whether the marketplace is rejecting the listing before a paid request, or whether an actual payment attempt failed. If there is no payment-bearing retry, investigate discovery, catalog rules, and client compatibility first. If there is a signed payment, inspect verification and settlement results rather than treating the marketplace’s label as a diagnosis.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteCapture the request and marketplace evidence
Save the marketplace name and listing ID, resource URL, UTC timestamp, exact status code, response headers, and response body. Record whether “unpayable” is an eligibility verdict or the result of a live call. When present, preserve the complete PAYMENT-REQUIRED and PAYMENT-RESPONSE values in a secure test record. Redact secrets and do not share signed payloads or wallet-sensitive material publicly.

- Entering download mode: Press and hold the BOOT button of ESP32C3, then press the RESET button, release the RESET button, and then release the BOOT button, at this time, ESP32C3 will enter the download mode. (You need to re-enter the download mode every time you connect, sometimes you press it once, the port is unstable and will disconnect, you can judge it by the port recognition sound)
In the HTTP flow, PAYMENT-REQUIRED carries encoded payment requirements, PAYMENT-SIGNATURE carries the client-supplied payment, and PAYMENT-RESPONSE carries settlement information. A missing payment-bearing retry is useful evidence: it points away from a rejection of a submitted signature and toward discovery or client-side payment formation.

Decode and inspect the requirements

Do not assume the marketplace chooses the first entry or supports every option in the list. A mismatch, malformed requirement, or unsupported scheme or network can prevent payment even when another listed option would work. The v2 specification treats malformed payloads and requirements, unsupported network or scheme, amount mismatch, signature problems, and recipient mismatch as distinct error categories; use the category returned by the implementation to focus the investigation.
Confirm the exact facilitator combination
Check support for the precise protocol-version, scheme, and network combination—not just for the chain or facilitator generally. For example, the Solana facilitator guide directs integrators to check /supported and not advertise an option unless that exact combination is supported. Confirm which facilitator actually handles the resource: it may be managed, self-hosted, or in-process. Support in one implementation does not establish support in another.

Separate payload formation from verification
If the marketplace does not send a payment-bearing retry, determine whether its client can parse the requirements and construct a payment for the selected option. If it does send one, inspect the payload in a secure test environment and compare its signed terms with the selected requirements. Avoid exposing wallet-sensitive data while doing this.
Inspect the facilitator’s /verify result and fields such as invalidReason and invalidMessage, or the equivalent fields in that implementation. Use the reported reason—such as unsupported network, invalid signature, amount mismatch, or recipient mismatch—to guide the correction. Verification is not settlement: a successful verification result alone does not show that the payment completed on-chain.

Check settlement before retrying
Inspect the /settle outcome, its errorReason, transaction information, and network. If the result is settlement_pending, treat it as unresolved, not as a definite failure. A transaction may have been broadcast even though confirmation could not be established. Keep the transaction hash and check the corresponding chain’s state before deciding what to do next.

A network error or malformed facilitator response does not prove either that funds moved or that they did not. Solana’s facilitator documentation explicitly warns that neither is proof of payment: Solana facilitator guide. Follow retry behavior documented for the facilitator you actually use. PayAI documents identical-request-body idempotent retries for its settle endpoint and recommends polling a pending outcome; do not assume another facilitator provides the same guarantees: PayAI settlement documentation.

Test marketplace-specific rules as hypotheses
Description length and Bazaar reports
An x402 Foundation issue opened July 30, 2026 reports four Bazaar endpoint cases in which shortening resource.description coincided with successful settlement. The issue author cautions that this does not establish a universal 500-character limit. If the affected marketplace is Bazaar or a related integration, try a shorter description as a reversible test, keeping the challenge and other fields unchanged. Treat the result as marketplace-specific evidence, not a protocol requirement: x402 Foundation issue #886.
EIP-712 token-domain metadata
A seller report dated October 3, 2026 describes an Agent402 eligibility rejection where the advertised EIP-712 extra.name was USDC, while the Base USDC contract’s domain name was reported as USD Coin. The seller says matching the string fixed that incident. This is one report, not evidence that every marketplace checks those fields. For an EIP-712 route, check the contract’s actual name and version on the relevant chain, then compare them with the authorization domain and advertised metadata: Agent402 seller report.
Keep gateway-specific behavior scoped
Cloudflare documents its own version 2 gateway flow and client-facing headers. That is a reminder that integrations can differ, not evidence that another marketplace uses the same headers or validation rules: Cloudflare x402 documentation.
Prepare a useful escalation packet
Send the marketplace or facilitator operator evidence that identifies the failing stage without exposing wallet-sensitive material. Include:
- Marketplace name, listing ID, and resource URL
- UTC timestamp, exact status, headers, and response body
- x402 version and redacted decoded requirements
- The selected scheme, network, asset, amount, and recipient
- Verification result and its error fields, if a payment was submitted
- Settlement result, transaction hash, and network, if available
- For a pending result, whether chain reconciliation found a receipt
- A minimal reproducible challenge, with suspected metadata or description changes isolated one field at a time
This record lets the operator distinguish a catalog decision, client limitation, verification rejection, and unresolved settlement instead of troubleshooting all four as if they were the same error.
