Use Razer Synapse to remap a Tartarus V2 Pro key, attach a configuration to an app, and assign a macro to a programmable control. These steps are for the Razer Tartarus V2 Pro, model RZ07-0552; Razer’s model-specific support page points owners to Synapse setup guidance, while some profile and macro instructions below are general Synapse workflows rather than keypad-only tutorials.
Confirm the keypad and open it in Synapse
Check that your device is the Razer Tartarus V2 Pro (RZ07-0552). Razer’s product FAQ says to install the latest Razer Synapse, then select the keypad. The support listing identifies the model and links to setup material; the precise screens can depend on the Synapse version.

Razer describes the keypad as having up to 31 programmable controls and advertises 24 configurable keymaps across three profiles. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results. A profile is a configuration associated with an application or task; keymaps are the distinct key arrangements you can keep within profiles.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Change a key binding
- In Synapse, select the Tartarus V2 Pro from the device list.
- Open Customize.
- Click the control you want to change in the keypad image.
- Choose an available function, such as a keyboard key or shortcut, and apply the assignment.
Razer’s product FAQ says changes save automatically for this model. Its general key-remapping guidance may show a save control or different labels, so follow the controls displayed in your version. Not every control is necessarily eligible: Razer’s general macro-assignment guidance, for example, says Windows and FN keys cannot be remapped or assigned a macro through that workflow.

Create an application-specific profile
Razer’s profile steps are general Synapse guidance, not a Tartarus V2 Pro-only walkthrough. The labels may vary by version.
- Open the Profile dropdown.
- Use the ellipsis beside Application Profiles, then choose Add Profile.
- Choose an empty or default profile, associate it with the target game or application, and give the profile a name.
- Select that profile before configuring the keypad so its key assignments are stored with the intended app configuration.
A profile can contain a keymap tailored to an application; you can keep different mappings for different uses rather than replacing one global layout. Razer advertises profile-specific keymaps and a custom toggle assignment for switching, but the exact switching control should be set using the options shown for your device in Synapse.

Create a macro and assign it to a key
Razer defines a macro as “an automated set of instructions (multiple keystrokes or mouse clicks) that can be performed using a simple action such as a single keystroke.” The following creation and assignment sequence is Razer’s documented Synapse 4 workflow, not a model-specific testing result.
- Open MACRO in Synapse and select New Macro.
- Rename the macro and record or configure the keystroke or click sequence you want it to perform.
- Open the keypad from the Synapse Dashboard and go to Customize.
- Select an eligible programmable key, choose MACRO, and select the macro you created.
- Choose the playback option offered in Synapse, then save the assignment.
Use a direct key or shortcut assignment when one input is all you need; use a macro when a single action should trigger a sequence. Windows and FN are examples of keys Razer says cannot be assigned a macro through its general assignment flow.

Switch profiles and account for older Synapse software
Razer says users can switch among profiles and assign a custom toggle. To set this up, use the profile and key-assignment controls shown in your Synapse installation; the available material does not establish a universal button sequence for the Tartarus V2 Pro.
If you still use Synapse 2.0, Razer says its cloud-related features ended on October 28, 2025. Existing local profiles and macros remain, and settings can be exported manually. Razer’s device support page links to import/export help, but consult its current instructions for the actual steps rather than assuming the old cloud workflow still applies.
