If by “Google feed” you mean the articles in Discover, Google’s documented controls are for the Google app or browsing on a phone—not Chrome on a desktop. On a computer, you can customize Chrome’s New Tab page shortcuts, cards, and appearance instead. These are separate interfaces with different controls.
First, identify which Google page you mean

Google states that “Suggested articles don’t appear on your homepage on your computer.” So if you are looking for a desktop Discover feed, the Chrome New Tab page is not a desktop version of the phone feed.

How do I change what shows on my Chrome New Tab page?
To use the documented desktop customization options, sign in to a Google Account and set Google as Chrome’s default search engine. Then:
- Open Chrome and create a new tab.
- Select Customize Chrome near the bottom-right corner of the New Tab page.
- Under Shortcuts, choose My shortcuts to select your own sites or Most visited sites to show frequently visited sites. You can also turn shortcuts off.
- To change an individual shortcut, open its More menu to edit or remove it.
- Under Appearance, choose a theme or background, adjust the browser color, or manage dark mode.
- If you want to remove a particular content card, open that card’s More menu and choose its hide option if one is available.
The available options can depend on the page and current Chrome controls. Chrome cards may show information such as ways to resume browsing; hiding a card is different from changing Discover interests.

Can I customize Google Discover on a computer?
Google’s Discover instructions describe changing interests and personalization in the Google app or while browsing on a phone. The reviewed desktop Chrome guidance does not provide equivalent controls for a computer feed; it says suggested articles are not shown on the computer homepage.
On a phone, Google’s documented Google app path for managing followed interests is profile picture → Settings → Personalization → Manage your interests. From there, you can unfollow topics. Google also describes controls for saved history and personalized recommendations. Some Discover features may not be available in every country or language.

What about Discover in Chrome on Android?
Android has a separate Discover workflow. From a Chrome New Tab page, its customization menu can let you turn the feed on or off, manage interests, indicate that you are not interested in a topic or publisher, and manage personalization activity.
