When available on your software build, Samsung’s supported way to change the swipe transition from an app to the Home screen is Good Lock > Home Up > Gesture Settings > Home Gesture Animation Tuning. Choose a preset for a quick change or use Advanced Tuning for finer adjustments. If you want fewer motion effects rather than a different transition, use the separate Reduce animations accessibility setting.
How do I change the animations on my Galaxy Z Fold?
Samsung describes Home Gesture Animation as the transition shown when you return from an app to the Home screen. Its control is in Home Up, a module inside Good Lock. The names and availability can vary by software version and device, so check whether the option appears on your Fold rather than assuming every model has it.

- Update first. Check for system software updates, then update Good Lock and Home Up through the update channels available on your device. Samsung’s Fold swipe-gesture troubleshooting guidance recommends checking software and Galaxy Store app updates when gesture behavior is not working correctly.
- Open the control. In Good Lock, open Home Up, then tap Gesture Settings. Samsung lists this route for Home Gesture Animation in its Home Up overview.
- Choose a style if the control is present. If Home Gesture Animation Tuning appears, start with a preset. Samsung’s feature overview describes preset styles and an Advanced Tuning option. Preset counts can differ between software contexts, so use the choices shown on your device rather than relying on a universal count.
- Adjust gradually. If you choose Advanced Tuning, change one control at a time and try the gesture before changing another. Keep settings that feel clear and responsive; there is no single numeric configuration established as best for every Fold or software version.
What if Home Gesture Animation is missing?
Its absence does not establish that your Fold is malfunctioning. Samsung’s Home Up overview does not provide a compatibility matrix covering every Fold generation, region, One UI version, or Home Up release. Samsung does document Good Lock and Home Up gesture settings in Fold support guidance, but that does not guarantee this specific animation-tuning control on every combination.

- Check for system, Good Lock, and Home Up updates.
- Check Samsung’s current guidance for your device and software version.
- If the setting still is not offered, use the available Samsung controls rather than treating sideloaded modules, ADB commands, root changes, or third-party tweaks as required or Samsung-supported solutions.
How can I reduce motion instead of changing the gesture style?
If your goal is fewer animation effects or less screen movement, use the accessibility option documented for the Galaxy Z Fold6: open Settings > Accessibility > Vision enhancements and turn on Reduce animations. This reduces effects; it does not select a different app-to-Home gesture transition. The exact menu path is from the Fold6 guide and may differ on later software. See the Galaxy Z Fold6 user guide.

Samsung’s One UI motion guidance says motion should last at least 100 ms to remain recognizable and should not exceed 500 ms to avoid interfering with subsequent tasks.
