You can remap the Revolution 5 Pro’s four rear shortcut buttons directly on the controller in Classic mode, or use Nacon’s companion app in Advanced mode to edit and save broader game profiles. For a quick rear-button change, hold the multifunction button for three seconds, choose a shortcut, assign a controller button, then press the multifunction button to save. For full profiles, connect the controller to a computer by cable and exit the app before disconnecting.

Nacon describes more than 60 customization options and four saved profiles per platform on its REVOLUTION 5 PRO product page; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

How to remap the Revolution 5 Pro’s rear buttons
The onboard method remaps existing controller buttons to the four rear shortcuts. It does not assign keyboard keys or create macros; Nacon says the controller does not support macros.

- Press and hold the multifunction button for three seconds. The light ring around the right stick starts flashing.
- Press the rear shortcut button you want to program. Its associated profile LED lights up.
- Press the controller button you want that shortcut to activate. The profile LED flashes three times to confirm the mapping.
- Repeat for another shortcut, or assign a different button to replace a mapping.
- Press the multifunction button to leave mapping mode and save. The ring stops flashing.

How to customize and save profiles in the Nacon app
Use the companion app for Advanced-mode profile editing. Nacon’s support procedure, updated August 17, 2026, is:
- Install the Revolution 5 Pro companion app.
- Connect the controller to a PC or Mac with a cable.
- Set the controller’s Mode switch to Wired.
- Set Platform to PS5 or PS4.
- Set the Advanced/Classic switch to Advanced.
- Open the app and follow its on-screen instructions to customize the profile.
- Exit the app to save your changes. Do not turn off or disconnect the controller first.
Nacon’s support warning is explicit: “If you turn off or disconnect the controller without exiting the app, the changes will not be saved.” See How do I customize the Revolution 5 Pro Controller profiles?

Nacon says up to four fully customizable profiles can be saved. The product page describes four saved profiles per platform; those are manufacturer specifications, and the cited pages do not give a publication date for that figure.
How to switch profiles
Put the controller in Advanced mode, then press the Profile button to cycle through the profiles. Nacon describes four customizable Advanced profiles per platform. The factory profile descriptions are Racing/Sports, FPS, Arcade/Fighting and Infiltration.

Why profile changes may not have saved
You disconnected before exiting the app
Reconnect the controller, open the app and make the change again. Exit the app normally before powering off or unplugging the controller; Nacon warns that disconnecting without exiting prevents changes from saving.
The controller is in the wrong mode or platform setting
For app editing, verify that Mode is Wired, Platform is set to PS5 or PS4, and Advanced/Classic is set to Advanced. Then reopen the app and follow its prompts.

You expect a macro or keyboard assignment
The documented remapping assigns an existing controller button to a rear shortcut. Nacon says macros are unsupported, and the cited materials do not describe keyboard-key assignments.
You notice stick drift with FPS Pro
Nacon says FPS Pro disables joystick dead zones, so a stick that does not return exactly to center may show slight drift. Its support page advises against enabling FPS Pro on both sticks at once. Nacon also says a previously reported Y-axis inversion issue that caused drift was resolved and recommends installing the latest firmware; the cited material does not identify a firmware version. Check Nacon’s official product and support page for current firmware information.

Compatibility: the app on Mac is not Mac gameplay support
Nacon says the controller works with PS5, PS4 and PC, and is not compatible with Mac for gameplay. The product page offers Windows and Mac app downloads, and the quick-start guide lists Windows 10, Windows 11 and macOS as app-compatible systems. These are separate claims: a Mac can be used for app-based configuration, but Nacon does not list Mac as a supported gameplay platform. For Steam, Nacon says to set the controller’s platform switch to PC. See the platform compatibility support page.
There are also gameplay-feature limits to keep in mind: Nacon says vibration works in PC and PS4 games, but not PS5 games, and that the controller has no haptic feedback.
