These recommendations reflect features each service documents, not comparative hands-on testing.
What cropping a PDF does—and what it does not
Cropping changes the visible page boundary. It does not necessarily erase the content outside that boundary: PDF24 says off-page content remains in the document, and Sejda describes it as hidden rather than completely removed. Cropping is therefore not a safe way to conceal personal or confidential information. Use a proper redaction tool for that purpose and verify that the information is actually removed.

Cropping also is not a dependable way to compress a PDF. PDF24 says the underlying content remains and file-size savings are usually modest.

How to crop with each tool
Adobe Acrobat on the web
- Open Acrobat on the web and select Edit > Crop pages.
- Upload the PDF, then drag the crop handles to set the visible page area.
- Choose the page range, or select All to use the same margins throughout.
- Select Crop. Adobe’s help instructions say the resulting pages are saved automatically to Adobe cloud storage.

Sejda
- Open Sejda’s online crop tool and upload the PDF.
- Choose the control that matches the document: use a shared crop for consistent margins, auto-crop to trim white margins, or set page-specific crop sizes.
- For precise boundaries, enter the top, left, bottom, and right margins.
- Apply the crop and inspect the processed pages before using the file.
Sejda’s listed free limits are up to 200 pages or 50 MB per document and three tasks per hour. The service says files are automatically deleted after two hours. For offline work, Sejda offers a desktop version that keeps files on your computer.

PDF24
- Open PDF24’s crop page and select or add your PDF.
- Set equal or custom crop boundaries. Apply one box across the document or crop pages individually.
- Process the PDF and download the result.
PDF24 describes this as a browser-only process: it says the file is not uploaded. Its FAQ also warns that the output is cropped permanently, so keep the original if you may need the uncropped pages.

- Open PDF Candy’s crop tool and upload or drag in the PDF.
- Adjust the crop frame around the page preview; enable the setting to apply it to all pages if appropriate.
- Process the file, then save it locally, to cloud storage, or using a shareable link.
PDF Candy says its cloud servers process documents. Its page presents paid plans with higher per-task file sizes and no hourly limits, but a current free allowance is not established here.

Can you crop just one page instead of the whole PDF?
Yes, with tools that provide page-specific controls. Sejda supports separate crop sizes for pages, and PDF24 says pages can be cropped individually. Acrobat offers page-range controls, so you can target a selected range rather than choosing All. PDF Candy’s documented workflow includes applying a setting to all pages; check its current interface for the page-level options you need.

- Prioritize on-device processing: PDF24 says its crop runs in the browser without uploading the file. That is the vendor’s description, not an independent audit.
- Need automatic or precise page controls: Sejda documents auto-crop, exact margins, and page-specific sizes.
- Already work in Acrobat: Acrobat’s web editor offers page-range selection and saves the result to Adobe cloud storage.
- Want cloud-connected PDF utilities: PDF Candy offers cloud processing and several ways to save or share the cropped result.
These are feature-based fits, not findings that one service is faster, more accurate, or produces better output than the others. For files containing sensitive material, consider whether the vendor’s stated processing model meets your requirements; the services’ privacy statements are not independent verification.

Check the result before replacing the original
- Review every page, especially when margins vary or you used automatic trimming.
- Confirm that text, page numbers, diagrams, and other content you need remain visible.
- Keep an uncropped original if you might need to restore the full page boundary.
- Do not treat content hidden by a crop as deleted or redacted.
