Then check the live preview on the platform where people will share the link; platforms may crop images differently or keep an older preview cached.
1. Write and check the Marathi text
Decide what the card needs to say before designing it. Keep the headline or key phrase short enough to remain readable when the card is displayed as a small preview. Check spelling and punctuation, and ask a fluent Marathi reader to review the final copy if you are unsure.

Use a Devanagari font that supports the characters in your text. Render the actual copy and inspect it: conjuncts, vowel marks, and other shaping details can look wrong if the chosen font lacks coverage or a fallback font is used unexpectedly. Google Fonts documents how to load a font through a stylesheet and set a generic fallback, but it does not identify a particular font as best for Marathi. See Google Fonts API: Get Started.
2. Design for the destination platform
Use a landscape layout, give the text breathing room, and avoid placing essential words at the very edges, where a crop can remove them. Dimensions and file limits are platform-specific rather than universal.

If you share to more than one platform, make a design that works at the intended landscape ratio, then inspect each destination’s preview instead of assuming one crop will look identical everywhere.
3. Publish a fetchable image and set page-specific metadata
Export the image and host it at a stable, publicly accessible URL. The image and the page itself must be reachable by the social platform’s crawler; a login wall or crawler-blocking rule can prevent the image from appearing. LinkedIn lists og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url as relevant Open Graph fields.

Add metadata to the page being shared, using its own title, short description, canonical share URL, and the actual URL of the image. For example:

If your site uses Webflow
Set the page’s Open Graph title, description, and image in its Open Graph settings, then publish the page. The exact controls can vary with the page type and Webflow’s current interface; use Webflow’s guide for the relevant settings rather than copying metadata meant for another page.
4. Check the real share preview
- Open the page on your live site and confirm that the metadata and image URL are the values you intended.
- Share or inspect the URL on the destination platform and check that the Marathi text is legible and not clipped.
- If the preview shows an earlier image, use that platform’s available debugger or re-scrape workflow, then check the preview again. Webflow recommends pre-caching with Facebook’s debugger, including after image changes; a refreshed preview still depends on Facebook’s behavior.
Do not treat a successful preview on one service as proof that every service will render the same image or crop. The official guidance cited here covers LinkedIn requirements and Webflow’s Facebook workflow, not a complete current specification for every platform.

5. Create or capture the card image
You can create the artwork in a graphics editor or generate it from HTML and CSS in a browser. If you use the browser route, load a font with the required Devanagari coverage, wait until it is ready before capture, and inspect the output image for shaping and crop issues. A screenshot API can capture a rendered page, but it does not replace the need to publish the resulting image and configure Open Graph tags on the page you share.

Troubleshooting
- Marathi letters look broken or disconnected: Check that the font includes the characters in your copy and inspect the rendered image, not just the source text. Ensure the intended web font loads before capture and that the fallback is appropriate.
- The image is missing: Verify the
og:imageURL, make sure it is public and fetchable, and confirm the page itself does not require login or block the crawler. LinkedIn identifies protected locations and blocked fetching as possible reasons an image cannot be retrieved. - An old image appears: The destination may be using a cached preview. Use its available re-scrape or debugger process. Webflow recommends Facebook’s debugger to pre-cache a page and after image changes.
- The preview works on one platform but looks wrong on another: Check the target service’s own image guidance and inspect its actual preview. The cited specifications do not establish one universal crop or rendering across platforms.
- The image is cropped too tightly: Adjust the layout to leave more space around essential text, then republish the image and refresh the destination preview.
