Create an Apple Invites event in the iPhone app or at iCloud.com, add its details, then send guests either a shareable public link or individual invitations. Hosting requires an iCloud+ subscription; guests can RSVP on the web without an Apple Account.
Before you create an event
- You need an iCloud+ subscription to host an event. Guests do not need iCloud+ or an Apple Account just to open an invitation and RSVP. See Apple’s iCloud+ requirement.
- You can create events in the Apple Invites iPhone app or on iCloud.com. Features may vary by country or region. Apple says children under 13 cannot create events; the applicable age threshold may vary by country or region. See Apple’s event-creation guide.
Create the event
In the iPhone app
- Open Apple Invites and tap New Event.
- Enter the event title, date and time, location, and description. Add a background image if you want; the guide also describes creating a shared album and, where available, using Image Playground for a background.
- Preview the invitation and adjust settings as needed, then continue to guest invitations. To keep the event as a draft, exit and choose Save Event.
On iCloud.com
- Go to icloud.com/invites, sign in to your Apple Account, and choose New Event.
- Add the event details, preview the invitation, and continue to guest invitations. The web flow also supports adding a link or shared playlist; playlist features may require an Apple Music subscription and particular settings.
When you enter a location, Apple says Maps information is added to the invitation. Adding a date can also add a weather forecast. Optional features are not available in every region.

Choose how to invite guests
After creating the event, select Invite Guests. Apple documents two ways to send invitations. The choice depends on whether you want one link to share or invitations addressed to specific people.

What guests do to RSVP
A guest opens the invitation link and chooses Going, Not Going, or Maybe. They can respond on the web without an Apple Account. The host can track statuses including Going, Not Going, Maybe, and Not Responded. Access to shared albums or playlists may have additional account or subscription requirements; those are separate from the ability to RSVP. See Apple’s guest guidance and Apple’s RSVP guidance.
