You can invite up to five collaborators, but the post must be public and LinkedIn says the feature may not be available to every account yet. Here’s how to create one, manage invitations, and decide when a regular post is a better fit.
What a collaborative post does
LinkedIn describes the format as a way to invite connections or Pages to collaborate on a single post. An invitation alone does not add someone as a collaborator: they must accept it. If they decline, the post remains on the creator’s profile only. LinkedIn Help: Collaborate on a LinkedIn post; LinkedIn Help: Create a collaborative post.

LinkedIn’s July 23, 2026 announcement says the feature is being introduced globally. Its Help guidance also cautions that rollout is gradual and the feature may not be available to everyone. If you do not see the collaborator option in the composer, your account may not have access yet. LinkedIn News, July 23, 2026; LinkedIn Help.

As a Page
Page admins can create collaborative posts using LinkedIn’s Page-admin flow. A Page must accept an invitation through an admin; an individual cannot accept on the Page’s behalf unless they have the necessary admin role. Before sending an invitation, check that the intended collaborator allows mentions and collaboration in their settings. Their notification settings may also affect whether an invitation notification arrives. LinkedIn News, July 23, 2026; LinkedIn Help.
Manage collaborators after publishing
The post creator can change the collaborator list after publication by editing the post and using its collaborator-editing control. Adding someone sends a new invitation; removing a pending or accepted collaborator removes them from the post. Only the creator can remove other collaborators. An accepted collaborator can remove themselves, which ends the post’s association with their profile or Page and removes their access to its engagement metrics. Choose between a collaborative post and a regular post
Use a collaborative post when each participating member or Page should have the post associated with their own profile or Page, and each is willing and able to accept the invitation. Choose a regular post with mentions or tags when shared profile association is not needed, or when the post cannot be public. The creator manages the collaborator list, so agree on ownership and any changes before publishing.

LinkedIn says collaboration can help a post reach a broader audience, but its official materials do not guarantee a specific reach or engagement increase. They do not provide a controlled comparison against an ordinary post, either. LinkedIn News, July 23, 2026.

Page analytics caveat
The creator is responsible for ensuring the post follows LinkedIn’s policies. Page admins can view performance in Page analytics, but LinkedIn says engagement metrics are unavailable for Pages added as collaborators. Consider that limitation if Page-level reporting is important to the partnership. LinkedIn Help: Collaborate on a LinkedIn post.
Do not confuse collaborative posts with collaborative articles
These are separate LinkedIn features. LinkedIn says it is no longer creating new collaborative articles or accepting contributions; existing collaborative articles and contributions are read-only. That status does not describe collaborative posts. LinkedIn Help: Collaborative articles.

Creator Marketplace is a separate option
LinkedIn Creator Marketplace is a way for eligible, invited creators to be discovered by brands and advertisers. It is not required to create a collaborative post, and its availability or eligibility should not be assumed. LinkedIn Help: Creators Core.
