Choose a title and description that guide learners
Make one playlist serve one clear learning purpose, such as a subject, exam, grade or level, or course sequence. A practical Hindi naming pattern is विषय | कक्षा/स्तर | पाठ्यक्रम; a bilingual version can work if your audience uses both Hindi and English to identify the subject. This is an organizational recommendation, not a YouTube requirement or a promise of search ranking.

Use the description to tell learners what the course covers, what they should know beforehand, and whether they should watch lessons in order. Make the first lesson easy to identify. Keep the title’s promise specific so learners can tell whether the playlist suits their level or exam.

Set playlist visibility for your audience
| Setting | Who can watch or share | When it fits a study channel |
|---|---|---|
| Public | Anyone can watch and share. Public playlists may appear in YouTube search, related videos, recommendations, on your channel, and in subscriber feeds. | Choose this when you want new learners to find the lessons. |
| Unlisted | Anyone with the link can watch and share; the playlist does not appear in search or recommendations. | Use this for link-only sharing. |
| Private | Only you, the owner, can view it. | Use this for personal organization rather than sharing lessons with learners. |
These visibility behaviors are described in YouTube Help’s playlist privacy guidance.

Order lessons and maintain the playlist
Think about the learner’s path before arranging videos: start with prerequisites or an introduction, then move through core lessons and finish with review or practice if your course includes them. YouTube provides video arrangement controls and drag-and-drop reordering; the teaching sequence itself is your editorial choice.
- Keep lessons on the same subject and level together so the playlist has a coherent purpose.
- Check the opening video: it should orient a learner who arrives without context.
- Revisit the order when you add a new lesson, so it appears where a learner needs it rather than simply at the end.
Made for Kids playlist caveat
YouTube Help notes that if a video’s or channel’s audience is set to Made for Kids, the content cannot be added to a playlist from the homepage. The documented alternative is to add it from search results. See YouTube’s playlist creation and management guidance.
