To show products in a vertical list on your customer-facing Shop page, edit the WooCommerce Product Catalog template and set its Product Collection block layout to Stack. This is different from the editor’s “List View,” which is a block outline for navigating a page or template.
Set the Shop page to a vertical product list
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Editor.
- Open Templates > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. This template controls the main Shop catalog. If changes made directly to the Shop page do not appear on the storefront, edit this template instead. See WooCommerce’s Product Catalog template documentation.
- Select the Product Collection block. It displays products in the catalog and provides the layout controls. WooCommerce explains the Product Collection block and its layouts.
- In the block settings sidebar, find Layout and choose Stack. Stack places products in a vertical list; Grid arranges them in columns, while Carousel displays a horizontal slider.
- Preview the catalog, then save the template.
Editor labels and options can vary with WordPress and WooCommerce versions. If Appearance > Editor is unavailable, your theme may not support the Site Editor. WooCommerce’s store-editing guide describes the Site Editor and block themes.

Choose which products appear and how they are ordered
Stack changes the presentation, not the product selection. In the Product Collection settings, you can use the current page’s query or configure a custom query. Depending on the collection settings, you can adjust ordering and products per page, or filter the collection to show sale products or products with particular stock statuses. Review the Product Collection query options.
To let shoppers narrow the catalog, add a Product Filters block alongside the Product Collection. Filters can only help customers refine products according to the filters available for that catalog. See WooCommerce’s Product Filters block documentation.

When a product table extension makes sense
The built-in Stack layout is the straightforward choice when you want a vertical product list. Consider a WooCommerce product table or listing extension only if you need table-specific controls—such as custom columns or richer table behavior—that Stack does not provide. WooCommerce documents optional extensions and their configuration; an extension is not required for the basic list layout. Make sure you mean the storefront, not the editor’s List View
The Site Editor’s List View is an outline of the blocks in the current page or template. Open it from the editor toolbar to find, select, move, or edit blocks; it does not change how products are displayed to shoppers. Change product order in the dashboard
If you mean the order in which products are managed or displayed—not whether they appear in a grid or list—use the dashboard’s product tools. On the Products screen, filter by category, product type, or stock status, and use manual sorting to reorder products. These administrative controls are separate from choosing Stack in the storefront template. See WooCommerce’s product management documentation.
