How to Create a Screenshot Workflow in Integrately From a New Airtable Record

Connect Airtable’s record-created trigger to a screenshot action or API, then map and test the returned image in your destination.

Use an Airtable record-creation trigger in Integrately, pass the record’s webpage URL to a screenshot service, then map the service’s returned image or image URL to a destination. Integrately documents Airtable triggers and a general Webhook/API route, but the screenshot request fields and response mapping depend on the provider you choose.

Choose the right Airtable trigger

In Integrately, create an automation and select Airtable as the trigger app. Choose Record is created if every newly created record should start a screenshot. Integrately also lists Record is created in view for records created in a particular view, and Record is created or updated for workflows that should also run after edits. See Integrately’s Airtable trigger and action listing.

If screenshots should only be taken after a record is ready, consider using a view-specific trigger. Confirm the exact view and filtering behavior in Integrately’s live builder; the available listing does not establish every filter configuration.

Prepare the Airtable record

Include a field containing the page URL, such as Page URL. You may also want fields for capture status, the screenshot result, or an error note. These are useful workflow-design choices, not required Airtable fields.

Connect the Airtable account in Integrately, then select the relevant base and table. During setup, use a test record with a valid URL that the screenshot provider can access.

Add the screenshot step

If Integrately lists your provider

If the screenshot provider appears as a native Integrately app, add its screenshot action and map the Airtable URL field to the action’s URL input. Verify the provider’s authentication requirements and the format it returns before configuring the next step.

If there is no native connector

Integrately documents a Webhook/API app as a bridge to services with public API documentation or a webhook URL. Add that app and configure the HTTP method, endpoint, authentication, headers, and request body according to the screenshot provider’s current documentation. The provider’s API determines the exact values; do not assume that one provider’s request format works with another. Integrately’s setup guidance is at https://integrately.com/docs.

Map the Airtable URL field into the provider’s URL parameter or request body. Check whether the response contains a hosted image URL, a file, or another reference. The next step must accept that actual output; a screenshot service may not return an image in the form your destination requires.

Send the result to a destination

Add an action after capture to attach, upload, or route the result. If you want to write it back to Airtable, check the current Airtable documentation for the attachment field’s accepted input and any hosting or URL requirements before mapping the response. Airtable’s broader integration options are described in its integration guide.

Use the provider’s response field that contains the usable image or image reference. If the destination accepts only a hosted URL but the screenshot step returns a file, you will need a compatible upload or storage step between capture and destination.

Test and turn on the automation

  1. In Integrately, finish mapping the trigger fields, screenshot request, and destination action.
  2. Use the builder’s test flow with a newly created Airtable record containing an accessible page URL.
  3. Inspect the test result at each stage: confirm the URL was sent, the screenshot was produced, and the destination received a usable image or link.
  4. If an error occurs, correct the mapping or provider-specific request settings and test again.
  5. When the test succeeds, use Test and Turn On to activate the automation, then inspect its history for execution status.

Native connector or Webhook/API?

Use these checks to decide which route fits. The sources establish Integrately’s generic API bridge, not a particular screenshot provider’s connector or response format.

What Airtable’s web clipper does—and does not do

Airtable’s web clipper documentation describes manual capture options, including selected-area and full-page screenshots when creating records in a browser. That is different from an automated screenshot action triggered by a record created through an Integrately workflow. See Airtable’s web clipper instructions.

Troubleshoot common failures

  • The trigger test finds no record: create a new record after configuring the trigger, confirm the selected base and table, and check whether the intended trigger is Record is created or Record is created in view.
  • The screenshot request fails: verify the URL field is mapped and non-empty, then check the HTTP method, endpoint, authentication, and request format against the provider’s documentation.
  • The screenshot step succeeds but the destination is empty: inspect the response and map the field containing the actual image or image URL. Confirm the destination supports that format.
  • The destination rejects the image: check its current requirements for files or hosted URLs. If the capture response is a file and the destination requires a URL, insert a compatible storage or upload action.
  • The test passes but later runs do not: review the automation’s execution history and confirm that new records meet the trigger or view conditions. Test again after correcting the configuration.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo can take the screenshot through a single API request. Its API supports a URL input and returns an image or PDF; this example saves a WebP response. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request details.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

To use this in Integrately, configure its Webhook/API step with the ScreenshotNeo endpoint and required request fields, mapping the Airtable URL into the request instead of the example URL. Check the response handling needed for your destination.

Zapier lists an example of capturing website screenshots from new Airtable records using HTML to Image. It illustrates the general pattern, but it does not establish that the same configuration or service works in Integrately: Zapier’s Airtable and HTML to Image example.
