You can create a simple pass directly in Wallet: tap the Add Card button, choose Create a Pass, then Create Pass Manually. Pick a template, fill in its fields and tap Done. This is useful for details you want to keep in Wallet, but it does not make a manually entered pass an issuer-verified credential or guarantee that a business will accept it.
Create a pass manually from a Wallet template
- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
- Tap the Add Card button, then tap Create a Pass.
- Tap Create Pass Manually and choose a template.
- Tap a field and enter or revise its details.
- Tap Done to add the pass to Wallet.
Apple documents these steps in its iPhone Wallet pass guide. Labels can vary by iOS version or localization. A manually created pass is a convenient place to store information; it does not establish that a merchant, venue, or other organization recognizes it as valid.

Edit a pass after creating it
- Open Wallet and tap the pass you want to change.
- Tap More, then Edit Pass.
- Change available details or fields, or adjust the background and color, then save your edits.
Apple says the edit controls can be used to add or remove fields. The options available depend on the pass and its template.

Make a pass from a barcode or QR-code image
If you have a photo or screenshot containing a barcode or QR code, Apple documents a separate option to create a pass from that image using Apple Intelligence: take or select the image, tap the displayed Add to Wallet control, and follow the prompts.

Apple’s guide currently lists iOS 27 or later and an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 model or later for this feature. Apple Intelligence availability varies by language and region, and use limits may apply. Check Apple’s current compatibility and availability information for your device and location.
This image route does not make every code usable. Apple warns that a code that changes periodically or expires may not work from a photo; for example, a photo of an expired concert-ticket code will not be valid.

Use an official pass from a business or organization
For an airline, merchant, venue, or other issuer’s pass, start with the issuer’s app, email, notification, website, or other communication. Tap Add to Apple Wallet, follow the prompts, and tap Add if asked. See Apple’s guidance on using passes in Wallet and adding tickets and passes.
