The Best TVs of 2026: Expert Picks for Different Rooms and Budgets

There is no single best TV for every room or budget. Current reviewers point to different standouts for an all-round OLED, a bright room, a lower-cost set and other priorities. The picks below are mainly US-oriented, and each is attributed to the guide that recommends it; check the exact model number and size available in your country before buying.

What is the best TV to buy in 2026?

For an all-round OLED, TechRadar names the LG C6 OLED its best overall TV, while RTINGS also lists it as its current midrange pick. RTINGS says the C6 is more versatile than the Samsung S90F because it handles bright rooms better, has stronger processing and supports Dolby Vision. These are the reviewers’ findings, not a universal ranking across every size, region or price.

Other guides choose different sets for different jobs. RTINGS says its current recommendations reflect market price and availability, and its guide may retain a 2025 model when it remains available at a compelling price. Its guide says the publisher performs more than 350 tests to inform its television recommendations; WIRED says it watched hundreds of hours of content while selecting picks from recent reviews. Those are each publisher’s descriptions of its own process, not directly comparable test scores. See RTINGS’ best-TV guide and WIRED’s current TV guide.

Which TV is best for a bright room?

Sony BRAVIA 9 II: bright-room picture quality

RTINGS names the Sony BRAVIA 9 II its best bright-room TV, saying it maintains picture quality in a bright room better than the Samsung S95H OLED. This is the more targeted pick if daylight and room lighting are central concerns.

Samsung S95H OLED: premium OLED with reflection control

RTINGS identifies the Samsung S95H OLED as a premium pick and says its reflection handling is slightly better than the LG G6. TechRadar separately names the Samsung S99H for bright rooms. Those are distinct model names and reviewer picks, not evidence that the sets are interchangeable. Check the exact regional model and size before comparing them.

What is the best OLED TV for most people?

The LG C6 OLED is the clearest all-round choice among these guides: TechRadar calls it best overall, and RTINGS places it in the midrange category. RTINGS’ reasons for preferring it to the Samsung S90F are better bright-room handling, stronger processing and Dolby Vision support. If you prioritize premium positioning or reflection handling instead, RTINGS’ Samsung S95H recommendation is a separate option.

OLED pixels emit their own light rather than relying on a backlight. What Hi-Fi? describes OLED as offering strong dark-scene contrast and wide viewing angles. These characteristics can make OLED appealing for movie watching and seating spread across a room, but the guide picks alone do not establish that one technology is best for every viewer.

Should I buy OLED or Mini LED?

Choose based on the room and the exact set, not the technology label alone. OLED’s self-emissive pixels support strong dark-scene contrast and wide viewing angles. Mini LED is a backlit LCD approach represented here among options for brightness and value; compare measured results for the precise model and size rather than assuming every Mini LED performs alike.

What Hi-Fi? names the Hisense UR9 RGB Mini LED its best RGB Mini LED in a guide update dated June 11, 2026. Its guide also reports that the 65-inch TCL C7K has 1008 dimming zones and a claimed peak brightness of 2600 nits. The brightness figure is the maker’s claim as reported by What Hi-Fi?, and both figures are specific to the 65-inch model; they should not be generalized to other sizes. See What Hi-Fi?’s best-TV guide.

Which TVs are worth considering at lower prices?

Hisense U7SG: midrange Mini LED

RTINGS describes the Hisense U7SG as a 2026 midrange Mini LED set, ranked below its higher-end options. Compared with the TCL QM7K alternative, RTINGS says it offers better brightness and glare handling. Review the exact size and local price before deciding whether that advantage justifies any difference in cost.

Hisense U6SF Pro: RTINGS’ budget pick

In an update dated September 15, 2026, RTINGS moved the Hisense U6SF Pro to its budget pick, describing it as more available and better overall than the TCL QM6K in its current market.

TCL QM6K: WIRED’s pick for most people

WIRED includes the TCL QM6K as its best TV for most people. Its selection differs from RTINGS’ current budget recommendation, illustrating why guide rankings should be read as publisher-specific choices rather than a settled consensus.

Vizio Mini LED Quantum 4K: an alternative to consider

RTINGS selected the Vizio Mini LED Quantum 4K over the Hisense QD6QF in its current guide, citing brighter output, deeper blacks, better colors and a wider viewing angle. Those are RTINGS’ comparative findings; they do not establish a universal winner across all sizes or prices.

How to choose between these recommendations

  1. Start with the room. For a bright room, compare the Sony BRAVIA 9 II and the other bright-room options above. For darker viewing and wide seating, consider OLED’s self-emissive contrast and viewing-angle characteristics.
  2. Set your budget using local prices. Prices and stock change, and the guides’ recommendations reflect their own markets. A prior-year TV can still make sense if it is available locally at a compelling price, but check its current listing rather than assuming a discount.
  3. Match the exact size and model suffix. Model naming and availability vary by country and screen size. A recommendation for one size does not establish identical performance or specifications in another.
  4. Check gaming requirements on the exact SKU. Refresh rate and console or PC features are not consistently established for every model here, so verify them in a review or specification page for the precise local model before purchasing.
  5. Consider audio separately. WIRED notes that many TVs have lackluster interfaces and that most are poor at sound; a soundbar or bookshelf speakers are optional ways to improve audio, not a requirement for every buyer.

The guides do not offer one consistent comparison table covering every listed set, size, price and test result. Their scores and categories should not be treated as directly interchangeable. Consult the relevant review for your shortlist: RTINGS TV reviews, TechRadar’s best-TV guide, WIRED’s TV guide and What Hi-Fi?’s best-TV guide.
