Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

YouTube does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 service, and a stream longer than 12 hours may not be saved as a replay. Set up the channel, clear the rights, test the feed and network, and decide how you will handle long-session archives before going live.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of launch. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance explains the requirements.
- A computer with streaming software, or a dedicated hardware encoder, configured to play your prerecorded classes in sequence or on repeat. YouTube supports encoder-based streaming but does not prescribe a particular playlist or looping application.
- A stable internet connection with enough outbound bandwidth for the encoder’s total stream bitrate, plus headroom.
- Permission to use every element in the broadcast, including instruction, performances, music, graphics and third-party footage.
- A plan for monitoring the stream and keeping a separate local recording if you need a dependable archive.
You do not necessarily need to buy new equipment: YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary to start. It recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production events, but does not certify a particular computer or encoder for unattended, uninterrupted operation. Review YouTube’s encoder guidance before choosing your setup.

Prepare and clear your yoga class library
Build a continuous playback sequence
Put the classes into the order you want viewers to see them, then configure your encoder or playout software to continue through the sequence and repeat it if needed. Check transitions between videos so the picture and sound do not cut out, overlap unexpectedly or fall silent between classes. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain how to send a feed to the platform; playlist creation and looping depend on the software or hardware you choose.
Confirm rights for the entire broadcast
Make sure your permissions cover the live broadcast and any replay, for the territories where the content may be available. YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider for the rights needed to use live content on Google services worldwide, explicitly including music rights. That includes checking the instructor’s and other performers’ permissions and any music, footage or artwork in your classes. See the YouTube livestream terms. The available guidance does not determine which specific Indian copyright, music or broadcast approvals apply to your production; get advice appropriate to your content and circumstances rather than assuming a track or class is cleared.

Create the YouTube stream and connect your encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live to enter the Live Control Room. Choose the encoder workflow.
- Create the stream, then copy its stream URL and stream key from the Live Control Room into the corresponding streaming settings in your encoder. Treat the key as a private credential: do not publish it, and reset it if you believe it has been exposed. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe this connection.
- Set the encoder’s source to the prerecorded class sequence and confirm it is set to repeat or continue as intended. Select the stream’s title, description, audience and privacy settings.
- Schedule the stream if you want a watch page for an upcoming broadcast. YouTube says scheduling can let viewers see the event in advance.
- Start the encoder feed and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Start the broadcast from YouTube when the preview is ready.
Menu labels and available options can change. If the stream key or scheduling controls are not visible, check that you are in the encoder workflow in Live Control Room and that live streaming is enabled for the channel.
Set up for a long-running broadcast
Allow bandwidth headroom
YouTube says your available upload bandwidth must exceed the stream’s total bitrate and recommends leaving 20% headroom. If a backup encoder is sending a simultaneous feed, account for the primary and backup bitrates when planning capacity. A connection that barely meets the nominal bitrate leaves little room for fluctuations. YouTube also recommends checking connection reliability. See its streaming bitrate and network guidance.
Preview, monitor and test recovery
Before launch, check the Live Control Room preview, confirm viewers can access the channel and watch page, and check playback on a mobile device. Monitor audio and video quality after the stream starts. YouTube recommends testing that a backup encoder can take over; do not assume failover works until you have tested it. Its live-streaming preparation guidance covers preview, monitoring and failover testing.

Choose between one continuous stream and shorter sessions
The important trade-off is replay reliability, not whether a 24-hour live feed is automatically supported. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable on streams longer than 12 hours. A single 24-hour broadcast is therefore not a dependable way to create a complete YouTube replay. See YouTube’s archive and DVR guidance.
| Approach | Useful when | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| One continuous 24/7 broadcast | You want the channel to present a continuous live feed. | YouTube warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured, and DVR may be limited or unavailable. |
| Shorter scheduled sessions | A YouTube replay and rewind experience matter alongside live availability. | You must manage the schedule and transitions between sessions; shorter sessions do not guarantee every replay will be captured. |
If a full archive matters, keep separate local recordings and assess whether shorter sessions suit your schedule. The 12-hour warning concerns archive capture and DVR; it is not evidence that a 24/7 live feed must be split.

What to know about monetization in India
YouTube lists live-stream features such as ads, Super Chat, Super Stickers and memberships, subject to channel eligibility and settings. An ad slot is not guaranteed to serve an ad, so do not treat it as assured revenue. YouTube’s Partner Program overview includes policy, eligible-location and Community Guidelines requirements, but the available guidance does not establish the current India-specific eligibility of an individual channel. Check the current Earn or eligibility screen in YouTube Studio and rely on your channel’s actual analytics rather than projecting income. See YouTube’s Partner Program overview and its live-stream monetization information.

| Symptom | Likely area to check | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Live streaming is unavailable in Studio | Channel verification, a live-stream restriction, or first-time activation still pending. | Check channel status and eligibility, then allow up to 24 hours for initial enablement. |
| Live Control Room receives no encoder feed | Encoder destination or stream-key configuration. | Recheck the stream URL and key against the current Live Control Room stream. Replace the key if it was exposed. |
| Video stutters or disconnects | Upload capacity or connection reliability. | Check that available upload bandwidth exceeds total stream bitrate, preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and investigate the connection. Include simultaneous backup bitrate in capacity planning. |
| Picture freezes or audio goes silent | Playback source, encoder, or class-to-class transition. | Inspect the encoder’s source and sequence, test transitions, and monitor the feed in Live Control Room. |
| The playlist stops before the intended end | Loop or continuation settings in the chosen playback setup. | Test the complete sequence and its repeat behavior before launch; YouTube’s setup guide does not configure third-party playlist looping for you. |
| A long stream has no complete replay or rewind | Session duration exceeds YouTube’s archive or DVR limits. | Do not rely on YouTube to capture a stream over 12 hours. Keep local recordings and consider shorter scheduled sessions if replay access is important. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not keep a computer or home connection running, StreamNeo keeps a prerecorded YouTube stream running from the cloud. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It streams the video as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. In India, UPI and cards are accepted. This is for prerecorded video streaming to YouTube, not camera broadcasts. Start your free StreamNeo day.
