Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can run a 24/7 Indian lo-fi beats radio channel by clearing the music rights, enabling YouTube live streaming, and sending a continuous playlist and visual loop through an encoder. YouTube does not guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast: plan to monitor stream health and respond to copyright warnings or outages.
Clear the music rights before you build the stream
Do not schedule a catalog until you have permission for every track you plan to broadcast. Use music you created and control, or get written permission that covers the sound recording and the composition, the intended territories, live streaming, monetization if applicable, and replay or archive use. Keep records of permissions, terms, attribution requirements, and the relevant rights holders.
YouTube Help says live streams are scanned for third-party content. A match can lead to a warning, a placeholder image, an interruption, or termination. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption: YouTube says the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived broadcast can receive a Content ID claim after the live stream ends. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music.
Terms such as “royalty-free” or “copyright-free,” and buying a track, do not by themselves establish permission for this particular use. Check the actual license and ask the rights owner about Content ID handling. If a disputed track triggers a warning, be ready to remove it or stop the broadcast rather than assume that a payment or license will resolve the platform issue.

What this means for an Indian music channel
The platform guidance does not settle Indian copyright-law requirements, collecting-society obligations, or whether a particular license covers every territory where viewers may watch. Those questions depend on the music and rights documentation. Get advice from an appropriate rights professional for your catalog and intended distribution; YouTube’s Content ID process is not a substitute for jurisdiction-specific legal advice.
Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube’s stated prerequisites include a verified channel, no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days, and a minimum age of 16 for live streaming. Enable live streaming well before launch: YouTube for Artists recommends allowing at least 24 hours before a first broadcast. Check the channel’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio before planning a launch date.

Prepare the radio program and visuals
Assemble a playback queue of cleared tracks and decide how the stream will look over long listening sessions. A branded still or restrained animation, readable channel identity, and track or artist labels where permitted can make the broadcast recognizable. Clear the visual assets as carefully as the music. These are production choices, not YouTube requirements.
Build the playback and monitoring process for continuous operation. A 24/7 stream is an engineering objective, not an uptime guarantee from YouTube: plan for encoder, network, power, and rights interruptions, and decide who will notice a failure and what they will do. YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is broad platform context, not an India-specific estimate of demand for lo-fi or a forecast for a new channel.

Choose the format for your audience and artwork
YouTube Help describes meaningful feature differences between formats. Horizontal streams support clickable links and live pre-roll and midroll ads; vertical live streams can appear in the Shorts feed. YouTube Studio can create a vertical version, and encoder-based dual streaming may be configurable. Availability and features can change, so verify current options in Live Control Room before building artwork around them.
- Horizontal: Choose it when a wide, designed radio scene and clickable links or live ad features matter.
- Vertical: Consider it when Shorts-feed discovery and a phone-first composition are priorities.
- Dual presentation: Consider it only if the current Studio or encoder setup supports the formats you need and you can check both compositions. A layout that works in a wide frame may crop badly on a phone.
Set up a do-it-yourself broadcast with an encoder
For a music radio stream with a designed visual loop, an encoder is the most fitting of YouTube’s listed production methods: YouTube describes encoders as offering more control and supporting overlays. You will need a computer capable of running your selected encoder and playback workflow; the exact hardware depends on that software and workload. YouTube’s general guidance also says webcam streaming requires a computer, but a webcam is not needed for a pre-produced radio loop.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Prepare the playlist and visual source. Load only cleared tracks into the playback queue and confirm that the image or animation can run continuously. Test a representative section for silent gaps, abrupt cuts, and unwanted overlays.
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule a live stream. In Live Control Room, enter the stream title, description, privacy setting, and optional thumbnail. Review the current controls, since interface labels may change.
- Copy the stream key from Live Control Room into the encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not put it in the stream description, a public document, or a screenshot. If it is exposed, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
- Configure the encoder for the source and YouTube’s current ingest guidance. Select the intended video source, resolution, frame rate, audio source, and the encoder settings shown for the stream in YouTube Studio. The sources available for this guide do not establish a universal bitrate or keyframe interval for every encoder, resolution, and frame rate, so do not copy a number from a different setup as if it were a platform-wide rule. Check the current YouTube settings and the encoder’s own guidance together.
- Test privately or unlisted before launch. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test. Start the encoder, confirm that Live Control Room receives a preview, and check that both picture and audio arrive as intended.
- Start the public broadcast from Live Control Room. The encoder sends the audio-video feed; the broadcast is the event viewers watch. The documented setup sequence is to start the encoder, wait for its incoming preview, and then use the Go Live control in Live Control Room. Confirm the stream is live before leaving it to run.
Monitor the stream and know what to do when it fails
Keep an eye on Live Control Room and YouTube Studio for stream status, warnings, and strikes. A long-running channel needs a practical response plan for a lost connection, stopped playback, or rights warning; YouTube’s guidance does not promise uninterrupted service or prescribe a complete 24/7 failover system.
- Live Control Room reports a third-party match: Stop or remove the disputed track if needed, review the rights documentation, and contact the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting. A license may not prevent interruption without that allowlisting.
- The stream is interrupted despite permission: Check whether the rights owner or authorized representative has allowlisted the channel in Content ID. Preserve the permission record and follow the platform’s warning or dispute process.
- No incoming preview appears: Check that the encoder is sending to the active stream configuration and that the correct stream key is entered. Recheck the encoder’s connection and the source selection, then wait for Studio to register an incoming feed.
- The picture arrives but audio does not: Confirm the encoder is using the intended playback audio source and that the playlist itself is playing. Make a fresh test before returning to a public broadcast.
- The encoder or playback stops: Restore the playback or encoder, confirm the incoming preview returns, and use Live Control Room to determine whether the broadcast is still active or needs to be started again.
- A claim appears on the archive after the live ends: Review the archived-video claim separately. YouTube distinguishes live-stream scanning from claims that can be applied after an archive is created.
When automation is useful
For a custom workflow, Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API distinguishes a broadcast—the event viewers watch—from a stream, the audio-video content sent to YouTube. The API can schedule broadcasts, associate streams with broadcasts, and transition broadcast states. It is a developer interface, not a turnkey 24/7 radio service or a guarantee of failover.

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded recording or playlist live as a continuous stream. The three steps are: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It does not clear music rights; use only material you are authorized to stream.
Quick Recap
- Nothing has to stay running at home; StreamNeo runs the stream in the cloud.
- Your upload streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot rather than a quality tier.
- It automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required; one free day is available per account.
- The monthly option is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are available in India.
