First, connect YouTube to Talk Studio and complete any verification or initial live-stream setup YouTube requires.
Before you schedule: connect YouTube and prepare the video
In Talk Studio, YouTube must be connected as a destination. Streamlabs’ YouTube guide says first-time streamers may need to verify their channel and complete YouTube’s initial Go Live setup in YouTube Studio. The guide describes opening Create > Go live, completing the required setup, and selecting the stream’s visibility. YouTube’s interface and account requirements can change, so follow the prompts shown in your account.
Have the video file ready and decide on the event title, description, date, time, visibility, and thumbnail before scheduling. Streamlabs’ scheduling guide lists a maximum prerecorded file size of 5 GB, a maximum duration of one hour on Standard and two hours on Pro/Ultra, and scheduling up to 50 days ahead. These are plan-specific limits in Streamlabs’ guide and may change; check the current Talk Studio plan information if your file is near a limit.
Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs recommends Chrome or Safari and a stable internet connection. Its Getting Started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, lists 5 Mbps as a minimum upload speed and recommends 10 Mbps for 720p or 20 Mbps for 1080p. Your connection matters while uploading the file; the prerecorded broadcast itself is not a real-time camera session.

Schedule a prerecorded YouTube stream in Talk Studio
- Open scheduling. In Talk Studio, select the Schedule icon, then choose +Schedule.
- Choose destinations. Select YouTube from the available streaming destinations. If YouTube is not connected, connect it and complete any setup or authorization prompts.
- Select the broadcast type. Choose Pre-recorded video. This is the option for using an uploaded video as the scheduled broadcast, rather than going live from a camera or recording a session.
- Upload the video. Select the prerecorded file and wait for the upload to complete. Check that its size and duration fit the limits for your Talk Studio plan.
- Set event details. Enter the stream title and description, choose the date and time, and add a thumbnail. Review the event visibility and other YouTube settings presented in the workflow.
- Schedule it. Select Schedule and confirm the event appears as expected. Streamlabs’ guide says YouTube creates an event link; use the scheduled event details in Talk Studio or YouTube to locate and share it.
Understand what this workflow does—and does not do
The prerecorded-video option schedules an uploaded file to play as a live stream. It is separate from Talk Studio’s recording tools, which are for capturing a session or stream and can provide cloud recordings and local tracks per participant. It is also different from uploaded intro or outro clips: those play at the beginning or end of a stream rather than serving as the scheduled broadcast itself.
Streamlabs’ support author Kevin described the feature this way: “With Talk Studio’s new ability to play pre-recorded videos for your live streams, it’s no longer necessary to broadcast in real-time.” The practical distinction is that the content is prerecorded, while viewers encounter it as a scheduled live event.

Copyright, visibility, and YouTube channel considerations
Before uploading, make sure you have the rights needed to stream every part of the video, including music, footage, images, and other third-party material. A scheduled format does not remove YouTube’s copyright rules. Review YouTube’s requirements and the visibility options shown for the event; channel verification or an initial live-stream setup may be required before Talk Studio can send to YouTube. YouTube can change account eligibility and interface steps, so rely on the current notices in YouTube Studio if they differ from older guide screenshots.
Talk Studio’s documentation explains how to schedule the video, but it does not establish that prerecorded content is exempt from YouTube’s monetization or reused-content policies. If monetization matters, make the video’s original contribution clear and review YouTube’s current policy guidance rather than assuming that using a live-event format changes how the content is assessed.

Limits and checks when the schedule will not work
| Check | What Streamlabs’ guide lists | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| File size | Maximum 5 GB | If upload is rejected, check the file size and use a file within the listed limit. |
| Video duration | Up to one hour on Standard; up to two hours on Pro/Ultra | Confirm your plan and the current limit before scheduling a longer video. |
| Advance scheduling | Up to 50 days ahead | Choose a date within the current scheduling window. |
These limits come from Streamlabs’ scheduling guide; plan details can change. The guide’s figures should not be treated as universal YouTube limits.
Troubleshooting common issues
- YouTube is missing from destinations: connect YouTube to Talk Studio, then complete any authorization prompts. If this is the channel’s first live stream, check YouTube Studio for verification or initial Go Live setup requirements.
- The video will not upload: verify the file size against the listed 5 GB ceiling, confirm the browser is supported, and retry on a stable connection. Streamlabs recommends Chrome or Safari.
- The video exceeds the duration limit: check whether your account is Standard or Pro/Ultra and compare the file duration with the corresponding limit in the scheduling guide.
- The date cannot be selected: check whether it falls within the listed 50-day advance scheduling window.
- The event is scheduled but difficult to find: Streamlabs says YouTube creates an event link. Review the scheduled event in Talk Studio or YouTube and confirm visibility and timing before sharing.
Or let it run in the cloud

If what you need instead is an always-on YouTube channel that loops uploaded videos, StreamNeo runs the stream in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded file at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
