You can run a continuous Navratri bhajan stream on YouTube with a prepared audio-and-video program, an encoder or a cloud streaming service, and music permissions that expressly cover live streaming. Before building a playlist, clear the rights to both the recordings and compositions; then enable YouTube Live, configure and test your stream, and plan how you will monitor it. YouTube may interrupt a live stream when it detects third-party material, even if you believe you have permission.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible to go live: it must be verified and have no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. For a first activation, allow up to 24 hours. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the requirements.
- A prepared audio-and-video feed and an encoder. YouTube supports both software and standalone hardware encoders; dedicated hardware is optional. For a continuous program assembled from recordings, an encoder gives you control over the feed.
- Permission for the music you intend to broadcast, including the sound recordings and compositions, for live streaming and the territories where the stream will be available.
- A sustained internet connection suitable for your chosen resolution and bitrate, plus a plan to monitor the stream and respond to problems.
Clear the bhajan music rights first
YouTube’s Livestream Terms and Conditions say the provider represents that it has all necessary rights for the live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. The terms do not determine which permissions apply to a particular bhajan, recording, country or use. Identify the actual rightsholders and confirm the scope of permission for your planned stream.

Check the recording and composition
A recording and the underlying composition can involve different rights. Confirm that the permission covers both the particular recording you will play and the composition performed in it. Ask whether the permission includes live transmission, your intended territories and, if you will keep the stream replay available, the archived recording as well.

Ask about Content ID allowlisting
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning and replace the stream with a placeholder; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance says that even creators with a license may need to ask the rights owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. Allowlisting helps address automated matching; it does not replace the permission itself.

Do not assume a video license covers live use
YouTube says Creator Music licenses and revenue-sharing tracks are not available for live streams. Its Creator Music help page and Creator Music FAQ do not provide a route to license live content. Use a license or direct permission that expressly covers your live broadcast.
Set up the YouTube live event
- Verify eligibility. In YouTube Studio, check that the channel is verified and that it has no live-stream restriction. Enable live streaming in advance if this is your first broadcast; activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Prepare and clear the program. Build the bhajan playlist only after confirming the rights for every recording and composition you will use. Keep a record of permissions and any Content ID allowlisting confirmation.
- Create a live stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create the event. Select the encoder workflow for your prepared continuous feed.
- Copy the stream URL and key into your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it publicly or include it in a screen recording. Use the event’s preview in Live Control Room to confirm that the encoder is connected before going live. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Configure and test the feed. Set resolution, frame rate and bitrate to suit your sustained upload connection. Check both sound and picture in the preview, then start the encoder and confirm that the event is live.
- Verify the public stream. Open the public watch page, check playback on a mobile device, and listen for breaks or unwanted silence. Monitor stream health rather than relying only on the encoder’s local status.
Choose an encoder and stable settings
YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Choose based on whether the setup can run for long periods, restart after a crash or connection loss, loop or schedule your program, and let someone monitor audio and stream status. A hardware encoder is not a YouTube requirement, and no particular model is necessary.

YouTube recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, AAC or MP3 audio, and a two-second keyframe interval. Match the resolution and bitrate to a reliable upload connection and test before depending on the feed. Bitrate guidance varies by resolution, frame rate and codec, so use YouTube’s current encoder settings recommendations for the exact configuration rather than treating one bitrate as universal.

A 24/7 broadcast needs more than a successful start. Decide who will notice and respond to an encoder stop, internet failure, silent or distorted audio, a rights alert, or a YouTube interruption. Test recovery before the festival stream depends on it, and arrange regular checks of the public playback and Live Control Room. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring; it does not specify a creator uptime guarantee in the cited guidance.

- You cannot start a live stream: check that the channel is verified, has no live-stream restriction in the past 90 days, and has completed live activation. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The event does not receive the encoder feed: verify that the encoder has the stream URL and the correct stream key for the event. Check the encoder connection and the Live Control Room preview before starting the broadcast.
- Video stutters or the stream health worsens: the selected resolution or bitrate may be too demanding for the sustained upload connection. Test a lower setting and consult YouTube’s current recommendations for the chosen resolution and frame rate.
- YouTube shows a copyright warning or placeholder: identify the matched material and contact the rightsholder. If you have permission, ask whether they can add your channel to the Content ID allowlist. Permission and allowlisting are separate matters.
- The stream stops after a rights alert: remove or replace the disputed content and resolve the rights issue before restarting. Do not assume a license for an on-demand video or Creator Music track authorizes live use.
- The picture works but the audio is missing or poor: check the encoder’s audio input and AAC or MP3 output, then listen to the Live Control Room preview and public playback before leaving the stream unattended.
