For a live Hindi webpage, use CloudConvert’s Capture Website operation and request PDF output. For HTML you control, use its HTML-to-PDF API. In either case, readable Devanagari depends on the renderer being able to fetch a suitable font and finish loading it before capture. CloudConvert describes a headless Chrome renderer and custom-font support, but does not guarantee correct Hindi rendering or font embedding for every site. Check the resulting PDF rather than assuming the conversion succeeded visually.
Choose the right CloudConvert route

The HTML-to-PDF API accepts a URL or HTML file. Its documented options include page size, margins, zoom, custom CSS, and waiting for a CSS selector. The live capture operation accepts a URL and can produce PDF output. Neither route guarantees that every remote font or protected page resource will be available to the renderer.

Check the Devanagari font before converting
Hindi is written in Devanagari, and the selected font must contain the characters the page needs and render their combinations and shaping correctly. A page may rely on a downloadable web font, a system font, or a fallback. A font installed on your own computer should not be assumed to exist in CloudConvert’s remote rendering environment.
If you control the HTML, declare a font with the required Devanagari coverage and ensure its font files are reachable to the conversion environment. CloudConvert advertises custom-font support, but its documentation does not establish a universal font-installation or embedding guarantee for arbitrary URLs. The W3C Devanagari Script Resources explain script and layout requirements; they do not mandate one particular font.

Allow web fonts to finish loading
A capture that starts too early can preserve blank text or fallback glyphs. Google notes that Chrome can leave text blank while a web font is loading. In a browser workflow you control, the document.fonts.ready promise resolves when fonts used by the document and related layout work are ready. See MDN’s Document: fonts property.
CloudConvert documents waiting for a CSS selector, not a setting that directly runs document.fonts.ready. If you control the page, expose a readiness element only after the font-loading promise resolves, then configure the conversion to wait for that selector. For example, page code you control could use:

Convert and verify the PDF
- Select the input route. For a live page, configure Capture Website with its URL and PDF output. For owned HTML, submit a URL or HTML file through the HTML-to-PDF API.
- Set layout options as needed. In the HTML-to-PDF route, choose page size, margins, zoom, custom CSS, and a selector wait condition where appropriate.
- Make font delivery reliable. Confirm the page’s CSS and font files are accessible to the renderer. If you control the page, wait for a readiness selector that appears after fonts finish loading.
- Download and inspect the actual PDF. Compare several Hindi passages with the source page, not just the first line or page.
Look for blank spaces, replacement boxes, substituted letterforms, broken conjuncts, or line breaks that alter the reading. If available, inspect the PDF’s font properties or render pages as images to examine appearance. These are practical checks, not a CloudConvert-certified Hindi validation feature. W3C’s Devanagari guidance provides context for script layout, but the final PDF is the evidence that matters for your page.

Authentication, CORS, anti-bot behavior, and remote asset restrictions can vary by site; CloudConvert’s cited documentation does not specify how every such configuration behaves. Treat them as possible causes to investigate, not as confirmed defects in every conversion.

Does CloudConvert guarantee that every Hindi font will be embedded in the PDF?
No such guarantee is established in its cited documentation; inspect the converted file for the page you need.
Can I tell CloudConvert to run document.fonts.ready directly?
The documented wait option is for a CSS selector. A readiness selector can be useful when you control the page, but it is not the same as a documented direct setting for that browser promise.
