Use your browser’s Print command and save the page as a PDF, then check the preview and saved file using actual Hindi text. Devanagari vowel marks and joined consonants can expose layout or font problems that a successful export alone will not catch. No browser can guarantee identical results for every webpage, so inspect the output before relying on it.
Save a webpage as PDF from Chrome or Firefox
- Open the complete webpage. Wait for visible content to load and expand any interactive sections you want included.
- Open the print dialog. In Chrome on Windows or Linux, press Ctrl+P; on Mac, press Command+P. You can also use File > Print. In Firefox, open the menu and choose Print.
- Choose Save as PDF as the destination. Firefox’s documented destination label is also “Save to PDF.”
- Review the preview before saving. Check Hindi text at normal reading size, then zoom in on words with vowel signs and joined consonants.
- If the preview is wrong, try the same page in another browser’s print flow. Where available, adjust paper size, scale, margins, orientation, or simplified/original format; a webpage may affect how it appears on paper.
- Save the PDF, reopen it in a PDF viewer, and inspect the same Hindi words in the saved file.
Chrome’s official steps differ by device: on Android, open More > Share > Print, choose Save as PDF, select a location, and save. Google’s Chrome Android instructions describe that workflow. Check Devanagari rendering in the preview and PDF
Devanagari has script-specific layout and presentation requirements. W3C’s Devanagari Script Resources (20 March 2026 draft) and its Devanagari Layout Requirements (9 July 2024) discuss those requirements for digital text. They do not certify that a particular browser will render every page correctly.
- Inspect representative Hindi words with vowel signs and joined consonants, not just isolated characters.
- Check both the print preview and the saved PDF. A correct-looking preview does not by itself prove the exported file is correct.
- If you need searchable or copyable Hindi, select or copy a passage and check it separately. Visual legibility does not guarantee that the PDF’s text layer behaves as expected.
When to try a more configurable conversion
If browser output remains unsuitable, Adobe documents additional web-page-to-PDF controls in Acrobat, including Language Specific Font Settings for script, font, and size. This is an optional route, not a guaranteed fix if the webpage’s text or fonts are defective. See Adobe’s web page to PDF conversion settings.

Troubleshooting Hindi text that looks broken
Marks or joined letters look misplaced
Compare the print preview with the page itself, then try another browser’s print flow. Check layout settings such as scale, margins, paper size, and orientation. If the page offers simplified and original versions, compare them; simplifying can change layout and content.
Text looks right in preview but wrong in the saved PDF
Reopen the file in a PDF viewer and inspect the affected words at normal size and zoom. If the file still renders incorrectly, try printing to PDF again from another browser. The documented workflows do not promise identical output for every page and device.

Hindi looks correct, but search or copy does not
Test selecting and copying a sample passage. A PDF can look readable while its text layer does not provide the selection or search behavior you need.
Some content is missing
Return to the webpage, wait for its visible content to load, and expand the sections you need before opening Print. Review the preview to see whether the material appears there before saving.

If the output needs adjustment, compare another browser or consider Acrobat’s documented language-specific settings.
