Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To turn 4K/30 footage into a 4K/60 YouTube Live loop, use frame interpolation to generate intermediate frames, inspect the result for artifacts, then loop the exported file in a streaming encoder configured for 3840×2160 at 60 fps. Simply changing a file’s frame-rate label does not create smooth new motion, and interpolation can distort difficult movement. If you prefer not to keep a computer running, StreamNeo can loop uploaded videos from the cloud on YouTube.
What converting 30 fps to 60 fps actually does
A 30-fps recording contains 30 captured frames per second. To play it at 60 fps at normal speed, frame interpolation estimates and inserts a new frame between captured frames. It does not recover motion detail the camera never recorded; it predicts what an in-between image might look like. Topaz describes interpolation as motion estimation and notes that drastic changes between frames limit the motion it can create: Topaz frame interpolation documentation.

Changing only the frame-rate metadata or duplicating frames can produce a 60-fps output file, but it does not create genuinely new motion information. Interpolation may look smoother in some scenes, but it can also create warping, tearing, ghosting, or other unnatural frames—especially around occlusions, crossing objects or limbs, fast movement, and erratic camera motion.

Step 1: Interpolate the 4K source to 60 fps
- Open the original video in a video editor or frame-interpolation application that can preserve 3840×2160 dimensions and export at 60 fps.
- Keep the intended duration and dimensions. Set the output frame rate to 60 fps and enable a frame-interpolation or frame-generation mode. Avoid changing speed unless you deliberately want a different playback duration.
- Render a short test section first. Choose a segment with the most movement, camera pans, and objects passing in front of one another. This helps you judge artifact risk and render time before processing the entire video.
- Inspect at normal speed and frame by frame. Check moving edges, faces, hands, text, and object boundaries. If generated frames look wrong, try a different method or model, reduce the processing, or keep the footage at 30 fps.
- Check the audio track. Topaz’s documented frame-interpolation enhancement is video-only and removes audio, so restore or remux the source audio separately if it is needed: Topaz frame interpolation documentation.
- Export and confirm the result. Verify the rendered file is 3840×2160 at 60 fps, and listen through the start and end before using it for a long stream.
Topaz Video
Topaz documents a “Convert to 60 FPS” preset that uses frame interpolation and has Chronos Fast enabled by default. It also documents a separate preset combining 4K output and 60 fps. Preset names and defaults can change, so check the current interface documentation before rendering: frame interpolation and presets.

DaVinci Resolve
Blackmagic Design’s Resolve 18 guide describes Nearest, Frame Blend, and Optical Flow retiming. Optical Flow estimates motion to generate frames and can appear smooth when movement is unobstructed, but Blackmagic warns that crossing elements or erratic camera motion can stretch or tear the image. Optical Flow is processor-intensive and may require caching. These details refer to the Resolve 18 guide; interface labels and behavior may differ in later versions: DaVinci Resolve 18 Editors Guide.
Step 2: Make the file repeat cleanly
A looping setting restarts playback when the file ends; it does not make the ending visually match the beginning. If the last and first frames differ sharply, viewers will see a jump each time the loop restarts. Inspect the boundary and, if needed, edit the in/out points or choose a source section whose image and audio transition naturally.

Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
Loop it in OBS
- In OBS, add a Media Source to the scene and select the rendered file.
- In the Media Source properties, enable Loop. OBS documents that the option restarts the file after playback finishes and is off by default.
- Confirm the source plays with the expected picture and sound, and watch it reach the end once to check the restart.
OBS lists MP4, MOV, MKV, and other supported video formats. See the OBS Media Sources guide for the current options.

Step 3: Set the live encoder for YouTube
The source file’s frame rate does not determine the live stream’s output by itself. Configure the encoder and output deliberately for 3840×2160 at 60 fps if you want a 4K60 stream. YouTube’s current encoder guidance supports up to 60 fps and recommends H.264, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and RTMPS. Check YouTube’s current requirements and your encoder’s labels before going live: YouTube Live encoder settings.

| YouTube output | Recommended H.264 bitrate | AV1/H.265 range listed by YouTube |
|---|---|---|
| 4K / 2160p at 60 fps | 35 Mbps | 10–40 Mbps |
| 4K / 2160p at 30 fps | 30 Mbps | 8–35 Mbps |
These are YouTube Help recommendations accessed in 2026, not a guarantee that a particular connection can sustain the stream. Allow headroom beyond the video bitrate for audio and network variation; use a stable wired connection where possible and test the actual stream. YouTube states that 4K cannot use the “improve for low latency” option and is set to normal latency.
Before relying on a long loop
- Use a representative test with the same resolution, frame rate, codec, bitrate, and audio you intend to stream.
- Check YouTube’s stream health and correct dropped frames or bitrate instability before leaving the stream unattended.
- Confirm the stream key is entered in the correct encoder and has not been exposed publicly. If it is compromised, replace it in YouTube’s live control room and update the encoder.
- Use footage and audio you have the rights to stream. YouTube’s copyright and monetization policies still apply to a continuously looping broadcast; a technically valid stream is not permission to rebroadcast copyrighted material.
Choose 4K60 only if the motion and connection justify it
Compare the interpolated result with the original 30-fps footage on the actual content. For still scenes or footage where interpolation creates visible artifacts, a clean 4K30 stream may be preferable. YouTube’s recommended H.264 bitrate for 4K60 is 35 Mbps, compared with 30 Mbps for 4K30, so 60 fps also requires more sustained upload capacity. Test both modes if you are unsure which is more reliable for your connection.
