The default game port is commonly 7777, but a host can assign a different port. The value in the hosting panel is authoritative for that server. The instructions below follow the workflow documented by hosting-provider guides; menu wording can vary slightly between client versions.

What you need before connecting
Have these details ready before opening the game:
- Server IP address: the numeric address supplied by the host.
- Game port: the port paired with that address. Hosts normally show the complete value as
IP:Portin a panel section named Connection Info. - Server status: the instance must be running and accepting connections.
- Mod approval: if the server uses mods, be prepared to accept the in-game download or confirmation prompt.
Do not copy an RCON, statistics, query, or reserved port in place of the game port. Those values can appear next to the player connection port in a hosting panel but serve different functions.

Direct-connect procedure
1. Copy the address from the host
Sign in to the control panel for the server and open Connection Info (or the panel’s equivalent). Copy the IP address and game port exactly as shown. If the panel displays 203.0.113.10:7777, the address is the part before the colon and the game port is the number after it. Do not add spaces, change punctuation, or substitute the default port merely because it is common.
Some hosts allocate ports other than 7777. A correct-looking IP with the wrong port still points the game at the wrong endpoint, so recheck this value whenever the host changes the server configuration.
2. Open the community-server menu
- Launch Path of Titans.
- Select Multiplayer.
- Choose Community Servers.
- Select Direct Connect.
Direct Connect is the manual-address route. It is useful whether the server is visible in the public browser or not, because it bypasses the need to find the listing by name.

3. Enter the server endpoint
In the field labelled Server IP for direct connect, enter the host’s IP address and port in the format the dialog accepts. Hosting guides describe entering the IP and port, then choosing Direct Connect or Connect. If the interface provides separate boxes, put the address in the IP box and the numeric game port in the port box; if it provides one endpoint box, use the panel’s IP:Port format.
4. Accept a mod prompt when appropriate
A modded server can trigger a confirmation prompt before the game continues. Select the option to proceed only if you intend to join that server and accept its required content. Declining the prompt stops this connection attempt; it does not indicate that the IP or port is wrong.

5. Wait for the connection result
Allow the client time to contact the server after submitting the address. If it connects, continue through the normal character or server-entry screens. If it fails, record the exact message and work through the checks below rather than repeatedly guessing ports.
Which Path of Titans port should you use?
The game port is the one players enter for Direct Connect. A hosting wiki documents -Port=7777 as the startup flag and says the server uses 7777 when that flag is omitted. One host guide describes the following default layout:

This layout is a default example, not a promise that every server uses those numbers. The host’s Connection Info panel takes precedence. Players normally need only the game port; the other values are supporting service ports used by the server or its administration tools.
Why 7777 may not work
A provider can assign a different game port, and a server operator can start the instance with a custom -Port= value. Entering 7777 when the panel shows another number sends the connection request to the wrong service. Copy the current endpoint again before changing firewall settings.
If the server is missing from the browser
A server does not have to appear in the Community Servers browser for you to try joining it. Use Multiplayer → Community Servers → Direct Connect and enter the address supplied by the host. Direct Connect is the documented fallback for an unlisted server.

Browser visibility and direct connection are separate checks. A listing problem can leave the server absent from search while the endpoint remains reachable. Conversely, a server that is listed can still reject a connection if its process is stopped, its advertised port is wrong, or a network filter blocks the request.

Check the host before troubleshooting your computer
- Confirm the server process is running in the hosting panel.
- Confirm that the panel’s IP and game port are current rather than copied from an older setup.
- Ask the operator whether maintenance, a restart, or a port change is in progress.
- Verify that required mods are enabled and that you are willing to accept the prompt.
One hosting source associates browser appearance with a valid authentication token and all five ports being open. That condition is not independently confirmed here, so treat it as a provider-specific diagnostic rather than a universal rule. It is still reasonable for the operator to check the token and port configuration when both browser listing and Direct Connect fail.
Connection troubleshooting, in the order that saves time
1. Re-copy the complete endpoint
Return to Connection Info and copy the IP and port again. Check for a transposed digit, an omitted colon, an extra space, or a port copied from the RCON or query row. If the host shows a combined value, use that value rather than reconstructing it from memory.
2. Confirm that you are using the game port
For the documented default layout, that is 7777. If your panel assigns another number, use the assigned number. A Direct Connect attempt cannot succeed when it targets a supporting service port instead of the game listener.
3. Check whether the server is actually online
Ask the operator or inspect the panel’s status. A powered-off, crashed, or still-starting instance cannot accept a player connection, regardless of whether the address is typed correctly. Retry only after the panel reports that the game server is running.

4. Check firewall and router rules
If the address is correct and the server is running, inspect the host’s firewall and router port-forwarding rules. The sources disagree about the transport protocol: one listing describes the game port as UDP and the reserved port as TCP; a Docker mapping uses 7777/udp, 7778/tcp, and 7780/tcp; another port-forwarding guide lists 7777–7781 for both TCP and UDP.
Because of that conflict, the practical troubleshooting advice in the hosting material is to allow both TCP and UDP for the relevant range, commonly 7777–7781, on the server firewall and router when Direct Connect fails. Apply the rule to the ports your host actually assigns, and confirm that the forwarding target is the machine running the server. Do not assume that opening 7777 alone fixes every provider’s layout.
5. Test Direct Connect again
After the operator changes a rule, submit the same verified IP and game port through Direct Connect. Avoid changing the address and firewall at the same time; testing one correction at a time makes it clear which change resolved the failure.
6. Escalate with useful details
If the connection still fails, send the host the exact IP-and-port format you entered, the time of the attempt, whether the server appeared in the browser, and any error text. Include whether you accepted a mod prompt. Those details let the operator compare your request with the server status, token, and port-forwarding configuration.
Understanding the port-protocol conflict
There is no single, consistently documented protocol mapping across the available hosting instructions. The conflicting descriptions are important because a rule that allows only one transport can block traffic even when the numeric port is right.
- One source identifies the game port as UDP and the reserved port as TCP.
- A Docker configuration maps 7777 as UDP, 7778 as TCP, and 7780 as TCP.
- A port-forwarding guide recommends both TCP and UDP for 7777 through 7781.
For a player, this means the host—not the client—must resolve the server’s actual protocol and forwarding setup. If you operate the server and do not have a provider-specific mapping, the documented practical approach is to test both protocols across the assigned range, then narrow the rules once the provider confirms its requirements.
Common mistakes and their fixes

Player checklist
- Obtain the current
IP:Portvalue from the server’s host. - Identify the game port, not RCON, statistics, query, or reserved ports.
- Open Multiplayer in Path of Titans.
- Choose Community Servers, then Direct Connect.
- Enter the IP and game port in Server IP for direct connect.
- Select Direct Connect or Connect.
- Accept the mod prompt if the server requires content you want to use.
- If it fails, verify the server status and have the operator check firewall and router rules for the assigned ports and protocols.
What the host should verify
When several players cannot join, the operator should check the server-side configuration rather than asking each player to guess. The documented checks are:
- The instance is running and listening on the configured game port.
- The startup configuration uses the intended
-Port=value; 7777 is the documented default when no value is supplied. - The IP and port displayed in Connection Info match the active instance.
- The relevant ports are allowed through the host firewall and forwarded by the router.
- TCP and UDP rules match the provider’s implementation; where the provider’s mapping is unclear, test both as the practical troubleshooting guidance recommends.
- The authentication token is valid if browser listing is also expected; the claim that this alone controls listing is provider-specific and should be confirmed with the host.
Why the host’s panel is the final authority
Port numbers shown in general guides describe defaults and examples, while a hosting panel describes the allocation for one particular server. This distinction explains most failed Direct Connect attempts: the player knows the standard 7777 value but the provider has assigned a different endpoint, or the player has copied a neighboring service port. Always privilege the current panel value over a generic setup diagram.
No official Alderon Games or Path of Titans developer page describing this Direct Connect sequence was identified in the available material. The menu path and troubleshooting workflow therefore come from hosting-provider documentation and may use slightly different labels as the game client and panels change. The functional sequence remains the same: obtain the host’s endpoint, enter it under Community Servers → Direct Connect, and resolve server-side availability or network filtering when the request cannot reach the game port.
