Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →You do not need to give IRL Pro your Google password to send a stream to YouTube. The documented IRL Pro setup uses a streaming destination URL and stream key: choose RTMP or SRT in the service that delivers your stream, select the same protocol in IRL Pro, then paste the complete publish URL into the app. The available IRL Pro guide does not document a native Google OAuth connection inside the app. Keep your Google password private—and treat the broadcast key as a separate secret.
Does IRL Pro connect to YouTube with Google?
In the documented setup, IRL Pro is configured as an encoder: it sends video to a destination using RTMP or SRT and a complete publish URL. That is different from authorizing a service to access your YouTube account through Google OAuth. The IRL Pro setup guide describes URL configuration, not an in-app YouTube sign-in flow. Enhanced IRL’s IRL Pro broadcasting guide covers the RTMP/SRT procedure.

A separate service may offer a “Connect with YouTube” authorization flow. Enhanced IRL, for example, documents a flow in which you select Account → Platform connections → Connect with YouTube, are redirected to YouTube to approve access, and then return to its dashboard. That is a feature of Enhanced IRL, not evidence that IRL Pro itself has the same account-linking capability. Enhanced IRL’s platform-connection instructions describe that workflow.

Password, OAuth permission, and broadcast key are different
| Item | What it does | What to protect |
|---|---|---|
| Google password | Signs you in to your Google account. | Do not enter it into an unrelated app or share it with a streaming service. |
| OAuth authorization | Lets you approve specific access for an application on Google’s consent page without handing the app your password. Google describes OAuth as allowing an application to access specific data while keeping usernames and passwords private. | Review the requested access before approving it, and only authorize a service you trust. Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API OAuth guide explains authorization. |
| YouTube broadcast key | Routes an encoder’s video to a YouTube live stream. It is a streaming credential, not a login password. | Keep it private: someone with the key may be able to broadcast as the channel owner. Enhanced IRL’s key-security guidance warns against sharing it. |
OAuth does not replace the need to configure a streaming destination, and pasting a publish URL into IRL Pro does not sign the app in to your Google account.

Connect IRL Pro to a YouTube destination
The exact dashboard labels can vary by streaming service. These steps separate account authorization, when a service supports it, from configuring IRL Pro to send video.
- Choose the service that will deliver your stream to YouTube. If it offers an explicit Connect with YouTube or equivalent option, start there rather than typing your Google password into an app form. For Enhanced IRL, the documented path is Account → Platform connections → Connect with YouTube. You are redirected to YouTube to approve access, then returned to the service dashboard. Only approve access on the genuine Google/YouTube authorization page and review what the service requests.
- Create a YouTube live stream if the service needs one. In the documented Enhanced IRL workflow, create a YouTube stream first if none exists, then sync the connection so the service can retrieve the broadcast key. Google’s YouTube Live API documentation says the channel must be approved or enabled for Live use, and the API does not support service-account authorization for linking a YouTube account. Google’s authorization guidance covers these requirements.
- Get the destination’s complete publish URL. In the service dashboard, configure the stream destination and copy its full publish URL. For the documented Enhanced IRL configuration, choose either RTMP or SRT for the key protocol. With SRT, the key is carried in the stream ID; with RTMP, the URL ends in the key. Copy the entire URL, not just a server address or a partial key.
- Set the matching protocol in IRL Pro. In IRL Pro’s destination settings, choose the same protocol—RTMP or SRT—as the service generated. Paste the complete publish URL into the app’s URL/server field, following the field label shown in your version of the app. A protocol mismatch or truncated URL can prevent the encoder from reaching the destination.
- Start a short test and check YouTube. Start streaming from IRL Pro, then confirm the stream appears in the intended YouTube Live control room before relying on it for a longer broadcast. If the service dashboard exposes a different destination URL or key, update IRL Pro with the current complete URL.
Keep the channel and stream credentials safe
- Never send your Google password to a service or person who only needs to configure a stream.
- Use an OAuth consent screen when a trusted service offers account connection; it authorizes access without disclosing your password.
- Do not post, screenshot, or forward a broadcast key or full publish URL. If you believe one has been exposed, replace or reset the key in the relevant YouTube/service settings and update IRL Pro with the new URL.
- Distinguish the YouTube account connection in a service dashboard from the encoder destination in IRL Pro. The first authorizes account access; the second tells the app where to send video.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos live on YouTube rather than stream from a phone in real time, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploads stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.
