How to Connect Hexowatch Alerts to Zapier

Connect Hexowatch alerts to Zapier with the native change/event trigger, or route changes through a webhook Catch Hook.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Connect Hexowatch to Zapier by creating a Zap with Hexowatch’s change/event trigger, signing in with your Hexowatch account email and API key, and selecting the monitored URL. Add and test a destination action, then turn on the Zap. If you need a webhook-based route instead, Hexowatch can send change data to a Zapier Catch Hook.

Connect Hexowatch to Zapier with the native trigger

  1. Copy your API key. In Hexowatch, open Settings and copy the API key. Treat it as a private account credential; do not post or share it publicly. Hexowatch’s Zapier integration instructions specify this credential step.
  2. Create a Zap. Sign in to Zapier, start a new Zap, and search for Hexowatch as the trigger app.
  3. Choose the change/event trigger. Hexowatch calls it New Change; Zapier’s app listings call it New Event. The wording may differ by interface version, so select the Hexowatch trigger that represents a new monitor event.
  4. Connect your account. In the Hexowatch connection step, enter the Hexowatch account email and API key.
  5. Select a monitored URL. Continue in the trigger setup and choose the monitored URL whose events should start this Zap.
  6. Add a destination action. Choose what Zapier should do when the trigger fires—for example, send an email, add a spreadsheet row, post to a team chat, or create a task. Hexowatch’s Zapier listings show example pairings with Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack, Google Docs, ClickUp, and other apps. Map the Hexowatch fields that appear in your current Zap editor to the corresponding action fields.
  7. Test and enable the Zap. Run the trigger and action tests offered in the editor, check that the selected monitor and mapped data are appropriate, then turn on the Zap.

Choose the native trigger or a webhook

Route How it works Best fit and limits
Native Hexowatch trigger Select Hexowatch in Zapier, connect with the Hexowatch email and API key, and choose a monitored URL. A guided setup for routing events from a selected monitor. Trigger naming differs between Hexowatch and Zapier screens.
Hexowatch webhook to Zapier Catch Hook Create a Catch Hook trigger in Webhooks by Zapier and place its generated URL in Hexowatch’s account-wide or individual-monitor webhook setting. Useful for webhook-based routing or a custom event intake path. The documented setup does not specify a complete payload schema, so inspect the fields Zapier receives rather than assuming field names.

Send Hexowatch events to a Zapier Catch Hook

  1. In Zapier, create a Zap and choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger app. Select Catch Hook and continue to obtain the generated hook URL. Zapier describes Catch Hook and Catch Raw Hook as options for receiving webhook data from external apps in its webhook trigger help article.
  2. In Hexowatch, configure a webhook either in Settings for account-wide change data or on the individual monitored URL for that monitor’s data. Paste the Zapier-generated URL into the relevant webhook setting. Hexowatch documents both scopes in its webhook documentation.
  3. Cause or wait for an event from the relevant monitor, then use the data Zapier receives to configure subsequent actions. Use the fields shown in your actual Zap; the Hexowatch setup reference does not establish a universal payload schema.

Keep webhook sending and receiving plan limits distinct

Zapier’s Help Center article, updated August 10, 2026, says its Send webhooks in Zap workflows feature is available on Professional, Team, and Enterprise plans, but not Free. That restriction concerns sending webhooks from a Zap; it does not by itself establish a restriction on receiving a request with Catch Hook. Check Zapier’s current plan details before relying on a plan-specific feature. See Zapier’s webhook trigger guidance and Zapier Help Center.

Troubleshoot a Hexowatch-to-Zapier connection

  • Zapier cannot connect to Hexowatch: Re-copy the API key from Hexowatch Settings and check that you entered it with the email for the intended Hexowatch account. Keep the key private.
  • You cannot find “New Change”: Zapier’s app listing may use New Event for the corresponding Hexowatch trigger. Look for the change/event trigger in the current editor rather than relying on one exact label.
  • The Zap test has no useful event data: Check that the intended monitored URL is selected, then run the trigger test again. Map only fields the current editor actually displays.
  • A webhook is not reaching the Zap: Verify that the URL entered in Hexowatch is the generated Catch Hook URL and that the webhook is configured at the intended scope—account-wide or on the specific monitor. Review the received data in Zapier before configuring later steps.
  • Monitor creation fails while using Hexowatch’s API: Hexowatch notes that webhook errors can cause monitor creation to fail when a webhook is supplied through that API. This documented case concerns API-based monitor creation; it does not show that every webhook error disables an existing monitor. See Hexowatch API documentation.

Or skip the browser setup

If you need a screenshot of a page involved in your workflow, ScreenshotNeo is a separate website screenshot API and MCP server—not a replacement for Hexowatch alerts or Zapier automation. A single GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. The API accepts the URL and can return a clean screenshot after handling consent banners; it also removes known newsletter popups and chat widgets. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with the outcome identified in response headers. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents and MCP clients.
