To connect a Logitech Yeti to an iPhone, match the Yeti’s cable to the iPhone’s port with an adapter that supports USB data, then confirm your streaming app recognizes the microphone. For a Lightning iPhone and a Yeti cable ending in USB-A, use Apple’s USB-A Camera Adapter family. For a USB-C iPhone, use a compatible USB data adapter or hub if the cable does not fit directly. Power and app compatibility can vary, so test the audio before going live.
Check the connectors before you connect
A Logitech Yeti is a USB microphone. The right connection depends on two things: whether your iPhone has a Lightning or USB-C port, and whether the Yeti cable ends in USB-A or USB-C. Connect a Yeti to a Lightning iPhone
For a Yeti cable that ends in USB-A
- Connect the Yeti’s USB-A cable to Apple’s Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
- Plug the adapter into the iPhone’s Lightning port.
- Unlock the iPhone if it does not recognize the accessory, then open the streaming app.
- Allow microphone access when prompted, and verify the app receives audio from the Yeti before starting a public stream.
Apple lists audio and MIDI devices among the USB-A accessories that can be used with its camera adapters. If the iPhone displays an “attached accessory uses too much power” alert, or the microphone is not recognized because of power, Apple recommends a powered USB-A hub or its Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter with the iPhone’s power adapter connected to the adapter’s Lightning port. Match the adapter to the Yeti cable
Apple says microphones can connect to USB-C iPhones, though some accessories need an adapter. If your Yeti cable ends in USB-A, use a compatible USB-C-to-USB-A adapter or hub that supports data; if the connectors fit directly, confirm that the cable supports USB data. Account for power and accessory differences
Connected devices can draw power from a USB-C iPhone, and available power may be a limiting factor. If the Yeti is not recognized or the app receives no audio, try a powered, data-capable hub. Apple’s USB-C to Lightning Adapter is described for connecting USB-C iPhones to Lightning accessories for charging, data, and audio; that general description does not confirm it as the correct adapter for every Yeti generation or cable.
Give the streaming app microphone access and test it
- Connect the Yeti and unlock the iPhone if necessary.
- Open the streaming app you plan to use. When iOS asks for microphone access, allow it.
- If permission was denied or needs checking, open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and enable access for the streaming app. Apple: Control access to hardware features on iPhone
- Make a short test recording or private stream. Speak into the Yeti and confirm the app captures that audio rather than relying on an unverified connection.
- Only start the intended broadcast after the test sounds right. App behavior can depend on the specific iPhone, Yeti, cable, adapter, and streaming app; there is no established compatibility matrix covering every combination.
