The GameSir G7 Pro 8K is configured from a PC with GameSir Connect, while its four onboard profiles can be changed directly from the controller. The controller supports up to 8,000Hz over a wired USB-C connection and the included 2.4G receiver, but GameSir specifies 8K polling for PC use only. Its physical trigger stops select either Hall Effect analog operation or Micro Switch operation; a separate hair-trigger shortcut changes trigger behavior without moving the physical stop.
This guide shows what each setting does, how to apply it without inventing undocumented app steps, and how to interpret polling tests. It also covers connection limits, profile shortcuts, calibration, resets and the most common reasons a measured rate does not match the configured maximum.

What you can configure on the G7 Pro 8K
There are three different layers of configuration, and keeping them separate prevents most setup mistakes:
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware match- Polling rate: the frequency at which the controller reports input to a PC. GameSir lists a maximum of 8,000Hz over wired and 2.4G wireless connections and says 8K polling works only on PC.
- Trigger-stop mode: a physical dual-mode mechanism that switches the triggers between Hall Effect analog input and Micro Switch input.
- Onboard profiles: four controller memory slots selected with the M button and the right stick. The shortcuts select a profile; the settings stored in a profile depend on how you configured it.
These controls are related but not interchangeable. Changing a profile does not change the physical trigger-stop position, and enabling hair-trigger mode is not the same as switching from analog to Micro Switch operation.

Before you begin: connection, platform and software requirements
Use a supported PC connection
For PC setup, the official manual documents two connection choices: the included wireless receiver or a USB-C cable. Each controller pairs only with its original bundled wireless dongle, so a receiver from another controller is not a substitute. GameSir also states that original bundled accessories are not sold separately; do not plan a setup around buying a replacement receiver by itself.
Use the receiver when you want 2.4G wireless operation, or connect the controller directly with USB-C when you are configuring or testing a wired setup. The manual’s 8,000Hz specification applies to both connection types on PC. It does not establish that 8K polling is available on Android, Nintendo Switch or another non-PC platform.
Install the current GameSir Connect build
GameSir identifies GameSir Connect as the PC configuration software and lists the G7 Pro 8K PC among its compatible products. The software listing reviewed for this guide showed version v1.14.5, updated July 6, 2026. App versions and screen labels can change, so treat that number as a dated reference rather than a permanent requirement. Download the current listing for your system, connect the controller, and let the app identify the G7 Pro 8K before changing settings.

How to configure polling rate on a PC
- Choose the connection you intend to use. Plug in the USB-C cable for wired play, or connect the included 2.4G receiver for wireless play. Keep the receiver paired to this controller; another unit’s dongle is not documented as compatible.
- Open GameSir Connect. Install the current version from GameSir’s software page, launch it, and select the detected G7 Pro 8K PC. If the controller is not shown, reconnect it directly rather than through a problematic hub and confirm that the receiver or cable is firmly attached.
- Open the controller’s current settings view. Find the polling-rate control that the installed app exposes. Because GameSir has not published a stable screen-by-screen path or a complete rate list, do not rely on a label or value from an older release if your interface differs.
- Select the available rate and apply it. Choose a value offered by the app, save or apply it using the control shown in that release, and allow any firmware or configuration write to finish before unplugging the controller. Do not describe a value as 8,000Hz unless the app actually offers it and the connection and PC meet the documented conditions.
- Test under repeatable conditions. If you want to check the result, use a near-idle PC, a stable direct USB connection when testing wired mode, current test software and the same test method for every run. For wireless testing, place the original receiver where it has a reliable link and avoid changing other controller settings between runs.
The manual describes the maximum as “up to 8000Hz,” not as a guaranteed result in every game, port or computer. A configured value and a test-program reading are different claims. GameSir attributes variation to the PC, USB port, controller hardware, hubs, controller configuration, firmware, testing software and test method, and notes that small differences between PCs or separate runs are normal.
What polling rate means—and what it does not
Polling rate is the interval at which the controller reports its current state. GameSir gives two theoretical examples: 125Hz corresponds to an 8ms polling cycle, while 1000Hz corresponds to a 1ms cycle. Those figures describe the reporting interval, not total end-to-end input latency. Display scan-out, game-engine input handling, frame time, USB or wireless transport and other system stages remain outside that simple cycle calculation.
| Item | What GameSir documents | How to state it accurately |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum rate | Up to 8,000Hz over wired and 2.4G wireless connections | A specification for the G7 Pro 8K on PC, not a promise that every test will read exactly 8,000Hz |
| Platform limit | 8K polling works only on PC | Do not carry the PC maximum over to Android or Switch |
| 125Hz example | 8ms per polling cycle | A theoretical cycle baseline, not total input-to-screen latency |
| 1000Hz example | 1ms per polling cycle | A theoretical cycle baseline, not an independent performance measurement |
| Test result | Can vary with hardware, software, connection and method | Compare runs only when conditions are held consistent |
A test utility therefore cannot prove that the controller will reduce a game’s complete latency by the same amount as the polling-cycle difference. It can show how frequently that particular setup reported during that particular run.

| Mode | Input behavior | Useful when | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hall Effect analog | Longer, variable travel with an analog output | A game needs graduated acceleration, throttle, pressure or another variable trigger value | Requires more travel before the input reaches its full range |
| Micro Switch | Short digital switch-style activation | A game treats the trigger primarily as an on/off action and you prefer a short press | It is not the same variable-travel behavior as the analog mode |
Move the controller’s physical stop to the mode you need, following the markings and resistance of the unit itself. The support material identifies the two modes but does not provide a universal left/right or up/down position description; do not assume a position from a photograph or from another controller. After moving a stop, open a game or an input display and confirm that the trigger behaves as expected.
Analog mode is the appropriate choice when partial depression matters—for example, controlling the amount of acceleration rather than merely selecting acceleration. Micro Switch mode is practical when the game only needs a quick digital action. Neither mode is categorically better for every title, and the documented material does not claim a measured speed advantage for either one.
Do not confuse the stop with Hair Trigger Mode
Hair Trigger Mode is a separate software or control toggle for triggers in long-travel mode. To toggle it, hold M and press LT or RT for two seconds. This shortcut changes the trigger response; it does not physically convert the trigger from Hall Effect analog hardware to Micro Switch hardware.
If a trigger suddenly feels abnormal, reports input too early or no longer provides the travel you expect, check whether Hair Trigger Mode is enabled before moving the physical stop again. Disable the hair-trigger setting when you need the normal long-travel response.

Select one of the four onboard profiles
The profile shortcuts are fixed and can be used without opening GameSir Connect. Hold the M button while toggling the right stick in the indicated direction:
| Profile | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Profile 1 | Hold M and toggle the right stick upward |
| Profile 2 | Hold M and toggle the right stick left |
| Profile 3 | Hold M and toggle the right stick right |
| Profile 4 | Hold M and toggle the right stick downward |
The manual confirms the switching combinations, but it does not assign a recommended profile to a named game or define what each slot should contain. Treat the four slots as blank organizational choices until you save your own settings. For example, you could reserve one slot for a title that needs analog triggers, another for a short digital trigger response, and the remaining slots for different mappings or sensitivity choices—provided those settings are actually configured in GameSir Connect.
After selecting a profile, verify the active settings in the app or in the game before starting a match. A profile shortcut selects the slot; it does not automatically select a trigger-stop position or guarantee that a particular polling rate is available on the current connection.
Verify inputs after changing settings
Use a controlled check rather than relying only on how a game feels:

- For polling, record the connection type, selected app value, test software and PC conditions. Repeat the same test several times instead of treating one reading as a universal result.
- For analog triggers, watch an input display while pressing gradually. The reading should change through a range rather than behaving only as released or fully pressed.
- For Micro Switch triggers, check that a short press produces the intended digital action and that the game does not require a variable value.
- For profiles, switch to each slot deliberately and confirm the expected mapping or sensitivity before launching the game.
- For hair-trigger behavior, test with the trigger in long-travel mode and make sure the two-second M-plus-trigger shortcut has not left the mode enabled accidentally.
Troubleshoot polling and controller behavior
The app does not show the controller
- Reconnect with the included USB-C cable or the G7 Pro 8K’s original receiver.
- Try a direct, stable USB port rather than a heavily loaded hub, especially while diagnosing a polling test.
- Close other controller utilities that might be trying to access the same device.
- Confirm that GameSir Connect is current and that the product is identified as the G7 Pro 8K PC.
These checks improve the reliability of the setup, but none guarantees an 8,000Hz reading. The manual explicitly treats hardware, firmware, software and test conditions as variables.
A polling test reports less than the configured value
First record whether the test is wired or 2.4G wireless and whether the PC is near idle. Then remove unnecessary hubs, repeat with current test software and use the same method for each run. Check that the controller configuration and firmware have not changed. Small deviations are expected; a test result should not be presented as proof of total latency or as an independent benchmark of the controller.
Triggers or sticks seem incorrect
Check the physical stop and the Hair Trigger Mode state separately. If the trigger is in long-travel mode, hold M plus LT or RT for two seconds to change the hair-trigger toggle, then test again. If stick or trigger values remain wrong, follow the current stick and trigger calibration procedure in GameSir’s support manual rather than guessing at a sequence.
Calibration corrects input reporting; it does not select the physical trigger-stop mode. Perform calibration only after deciding which trigger mode you want to use.
You need to clear a bad configuration
The support documentation also describes a full settings reset. Use the current manual or app instructions for that reset and save any settings you want to recreate first: GameSir warns that resetting clears profiles and custom settings. Reconfigure the desired polling option, trigger behavior and profile contents after the reset, then verify each one independently.
A practical setup sequence
- Connect the G7 Pro 8K to the PC with USB-C or its original 2.4G receiver.
- Open the current GameSir Connect release and confirm that it recognizes the controller.
- Set the polling value exposed by the app, apply it, and note the connection and PC conditions.
- Move each physical trigger stop to the documented analog or Micro Switch mode required by the game.
- In long-travel mode, decide separately whether Hair Trigger Mode should be enabled with the M-plus-LT or M-plus-RT two-second shortcut.
- Configure and save your desired settings, then use M plus the right-stick direction to select Profile 1, 2, 3 or 4.
- Test the selected profile, trigger response and polling behavior before entering a competitive session.
- If readings or inputs are abnormal, check hair-trigger state, connection quality, calibration and—only as a last resort—the full reset, remembering that reset erases profiles and custom settings.
For the controller’s complete diagrams and the latest calibration and reset instructions, consult GameSir’s G7 Pro 8K support manual. The manual covers the G7 Pro 8K PC family, including the Aimlabs, Champion, Nioh 3 and Royal2 editions.
