How to Configure Fluxguard Alerts for Website Changes

Configure a Fluxguard baseline, select what counts as a change, set crawl and email timing, and send notifications to a webhook when needed.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To configure Fluxguard alerts, add the page or site and let its first crawl establish a baseline. Then open the site’s Session Settings to choose what counts as a change and how often Fluxguard checks. Set email frequency in Account Settings, or configure a webhook there if alerts need to reach another service.

1. Add a page and establish its baseline

Add the URL or site you want to monitor and allow the initial crawl to finish. Fluxguard uses this first capture as the reference for later comparisons. Its setup documentation says a capture can include a screenshot, HTML, extracted text, and a network profile. Fluxguard FAQ · Visual monitoring guide

2. Open Session Settings

From the monitored site’s Session View, select the gear icon to open Session Settings. The dashboard’s site menu also provides a route to those settings. This is where you configure crawl frequency and options for discovering or automatically monitoring new URLs. Fluxguard FAQ

3. Choose what counts as a change

Fluxguard documents text, HTML, visual, and network comparisons. Choose the mode that fits what you need to notice:

Detection type Useful for noticing
Text Changed wording, including targeted keyword or phrase changes.
HTML Changes to page markup.
Visual Changes in rendered appearance, such as layout, styling, or images.
Network Changes to resources such as scripts, images, fonts, or other network activity.

In Fluxguard’s general walkthrough, the primary detection strategy is set in the Detect tab. Its visual-monitoring tutorial describes choosing visual comparison in the Comparison tab. The labels and placement differ between tutorials, so look for the setting that selects the comparison method in your current account. Fluxguard does not publish comparative accuracy figures for these modes. General monitoring walkthrough · Visual monitoring guide

4. Set the crawl schedule

In Session Settings, open Crawl and choose how often Fluxguard should check the site. The frequency guide gives examples such as every 15 minutes, hour, day, or month. A crawl schedule controls when a change can be observed; it does not guarantee immediate notification. Fluxguard says fast crawl frequencies require site verification by contacting the service, so not every account should assume the fastest intervals are available. Crawl frequency guide

5. Reduce irrelevant change alerts

Track particular keywords

For alerts about words or phrases, use Detect → text change → advanced options, then specify the additions or deletions to watch for. Fluxguard’s keyword guide advises using no more than 50 keywords or phrases. It also describes excluding recurring words from analysis to reduce noise. Keyword monitoring guide

Filter page areas and network activity

Inclusion and exclusion filters can help focus monitoring on relevant parts of a page. Network blocks can exclude irrelevant third-party activity. The exact controls depend on the configuration available in your account; consult Fluxguard’s guide index and console tutorial.

Use AI filtering selectively

Fluxguard documents account- or site-level AI options for evaluating and summarizing changes, including an option to alert only on changes AI considers important. Treat that as a further filter, not proof that an alert is correct or a replacement for selecting suitable detection rules. The documentation does not provide a quantified accuracy or false-positive guarantee. Fluxguard AI guide

6. Choose how email alerts arrive

Email frequency is controlled at the account level, rather than by a page’s crawl schedule. Fluxguard’s FAQ says daily summary email is the default and that Account Settings lets you change the cadence to options such as immediately, daily, or weekly, as well as other available choices. Account-level category settings can also limit which kinds of site changes appear in email. Fluxguard FAQ

Keep the distinction clear: the crawl cadence affects when Fluxguard can detect a change, while the email cadence affects when email is sent. A frequent crawl combined with a daily email summary may detect changes before the summary arrives.

7. Send alerts to another system with a webhook

  1. Prepare an endpoint that can receive HTTP POST requests and process JSON.
  2. In Fluxguard Account Settings, add the endpoint or endpoints for webhook delivery.
  3. When Fluxguard detects a change, it POSTs a JSON data package to the configured endpoint. Test that your receiver can accept and handle the payload before relying on it for alert routing.
  4. Process the change fields and any file references in the package. The webhook guide says large artifacts such as HTML and screenshots are referenced separately rather than embedded in full; save files you need because they may only be available for a limited time.

Enable delivery only when your endpoint is ready for the volume of changes it may receive. A webhook pushes a notification after a crawl detects a change; it does not make the crawl happen sooner. Fluxguard webhook guide

Best Value
HP 14 inch Laptop, 2027 Edition, Intel N150 CPU, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 1TB Cloud Storage, Long Battery Life, Win 11 with Microsoft 365
  • 【Powerful Performance】Equipped with an Intel N150 CPU, featuring up to 4.4 GHz, ensuring efficient and powerful multitasking capabilities.
  • 【Versatile Connectivity】Stay connected with multiple ports including USB 3.0 Type-C, USB 3.0 Type-A, and a headphone/mic combo jack, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for seamless wireless networking.

Which alert setup should you choose?

  • Human review by email: Use account email delivery and choose a cadence that fits how quickly people need to respond.
  • Custom routing or automation: Use a webhook when a prepared endpoint needs to process change notifications.
  • Programmatic page management: Fluxguard also documents an API for page-management and crawl operations; see its API guide.
  • Broad change awareness: Choose the detection type that matches the changes you care about, then narrow irrelevant results with keyword, page-area, or network filters as appropriate.

Common configuration problems

  • No alerts before the first comparison: Confirm the initial crawl has completed so Fluxguard has a baseline to compare against.
  • Changes are noticed later than expected: Check both the Session Settings crawl schedule and the Account Settings email cadence; they control different stages. Fast crawl frequencies require site verification.
  • Too many irrelevant notifications: Review the detection mode, keyword settings, page-area filters, and network blocks. AI filtering is optional and is not an accuracy guarantee.
  • Webhook notifications do not arrive: Confirm the endpoint is configured in Account Settings and can accept POST requests with JSON. Check the receiving service’s handling of the request and payload.
  • Webhook payload lacks a full screenshot or HTML file: The package may reference those artifacts rather than contain them. Retrieve and save required files promptly, as availability may be limited.

Or skip the browser setup

If you need a screenshot rather than ongoing change alerts, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its one-call API can return an image or PDF; see the ScreenshotNeo documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://fluxguard.com -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
