What does composing in one app and sending in another mean?
It separates drafting from delivery. You create or edit the text in one app, then transfer it to the app or web page that will actually send or submit it. MacMost names Mail, Messages, and browser forms as possible destinations. The workflow is not tied to one particular writing app.

When is a separate drafting step useful?
Choose the workflow based on what your message needs, rather than assuming that a separate editor is always better. It can be useful when you want to revise a longer message before opening a conversation or form, or when you want to keep a draft separate from the destination while you work.

- Formatting: Check whether the destination preserves the formatting you need. Plain text may transfer more predictably than styled text, but can lose emphasis, links, or layout.
- Destination requirements: Confirm that the receiving app or form accepts the content you plan to paste, including any required fields or character limits.
- Sending safely: Before sending or submitting, review the text in its final destination. Verify the recipient or form, check for unfinished notes, and make sure the pasted text is complete.
How to move a draft into its destination
- Draft the text. Write and revise it in the app you prefer.
- Copy the finished text. Select the portion intended for the recipient, not private notes or reminders.
- Open the destination. Start a message in Mail or Messages, or open the relevant browser form.
- Paste and inspect. Check line breaks, links, and formatting in the destination; make any needed adjustments there.
- Verify before sending. Confirm the recipient or form details and read the final version once more before sending or submitting.
