For the Sheltered Retreat Outpost project, bring an in-game camera, photograph a farmland house there, then return to the project screen to complete the stage. If your objective is Movie Night, Ruined Homestead is instead one possible place to search for a Portable TV.
Complete the Sheltered Retreat photo objective
1. Confirm the active project step
Open the Outpost project screen and check that the photo objective is active. Current walkthroughs call this stage “Research Topside Living Conditions.” Follow the objective shown in your game if its wording differs.

2. Get and equip an in-game camera
Guides list three ways to obtain a camera: buy one from Shani, craft one at a basic workbench, or earn one through a quest. Check the current in-game price and availability, since these can change. Equip the camera before deploying.

3. Travel to Ruined Homestead
Deploy to Blue Gate and head south toward Olive Grove. Ruined Homestead is beside the grove; zoom in around that area if the map label is hard to spot. Current location and objective guide

4. Photograph a farmland house
Aim the equipped camera at a house around Ruined Homestead and take the photo. Guides report that a qualifying farm building should register, with one guide saying any of the main farm buildings may work. If the objective does not update, try photographing another house and check the objective status.
5. Return to the Outpost project screen
Check the project screen and complete or submit the stage there to advance. Later stages are reported to involve building materials and ARC damage; use the live project screen for their current requirements. Sheltered Retreat walkthrough

Movie Night is a separate Apollo quest. Its first objective is to find a Portable TV, a residential loot item; Ruined Homestead is one of several listed Blue Gate search areas. The quest then sends you to Stella Montis to search Cultural Archives for movie tapes and return the quest items to Apollo. Look at the active objective before traveling: the photo task is in Blue Gate, while the movie-tape task is in Stella Montis. Movie Night walkthrough

When a photo or search does not register
- Verify that the Sheltered Retreat photo step is active if you are taking a picture.
- Try another main farm building and recheck the objective status; the accepted-building details are guide-reported, not officially confirmed.
- For Movie Night, make sure you are searching for the Portable TV rather than trying to complete the Sheltered Retreat photo objective.
