Compare the offer shown for your service address—not just the advertised starting price. Check how long that price lasts, what it becomes afterward, download and upload speeds, Wi-Fi charges, and one-time fees. Spectrum’s published standard rates and online promotions are different kinds of prices, and neither guarantees the offer available at every address. Existing customers should use their bill to confirm their current rate.
Which Spectrum price applies to you?
Spectrum publishes standard residential retail rates for its 41-state service area, but says an existing customer’s current rate is shown on their bill. Its online shopping page separately advertises introductory offers. Those offers can depend on address and eligibility and may change, so use the price and Broadband Facts label presented during checkout for your location.

The provider’s published standard rates and the online introductory prices available when the plan page was checked are shown separately below. The standard rates are provider-published figures, not a promise of local availability; the introductory offers are time-sensitive and address-dependent.

What will Spectrum cost after the first year?
For a promotion, compare the introductory rate with the later rate and note the exact promotion period. The plan page’s Advantage, Premier, and Gig offers above last one year, but it does not state the later rate alongside those offers. The published standard rates are useful reference points, but don’t assume they are the exact post-promotion price on your offer: read the address-specific Broadband Facts label and checkout terms.
Labels illustrate why the offer itself matters. A California Internet Premier label lists $50/month for 12 months, then $85/month subject to change; it reports typical speeds of 572 Mbps down and 23 Mbps up, plus a $1.25 California Cost Recovery Charge. This is a specific California label, not a universal Premier offer. A national Internet Gig label lists $70/month for 12 months, then $105 subject to change. Its price and metrics belong to that label and may differ from the online offer shown above. Review the label for your address rather than combining figures from different offers.

- NIGHTHAWK WIFI 6 ROUTER FOR YOUR WHOLE HOME: Delivers fast, reliable WiFi across every room of your apartment or small home for streaming, gaming, video calls, and smart home devices, all running at the same time without slowing each other down.
- WORKS WITH YOUR EXISTING INTERNET SERVICE: Pairs with your existing modem or gateway via ethernet. Compatible with most cable, fiber, DSL, and satellite providers. Some gateways and modem router combos may require bridge mode. No coax needed.
- SET UP AND MANAGE YOUR NETWORK WITH THE NIGHTHAWK APP: Download the free Nighthawk app on iOS or Android for guided setup. Manage WiFi, run speed tests, pause devices, and set up guest networks from anywhere. Active internet required.
- READY FOR THE DEVICES YOU ALREADY OWN: Your phones, laptops, and TVs work right out of the box. WiFi 6 delivers speeds up to 1.8 Gbps across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Backward compatible with WiFi 5 and earlier.
- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
For people who qualify, the Internet Assist label lists $25/month, says the price is not introductory, and requires no contract. Its terms are distinct from promotional plans. Spectrum’s Broadband Facts labels show offer-specific prices and terms.
How should you compare speeds?
Look at both download and upload speeds. Download affects activities such as loading websites and receiving video; upload matters when sending large files or making video calls. Published plan-tier speeds and label-reported typical speeds are not interchangeable: the latter belong to a particular label and offer.

| Plan or label | Download | Upload | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Advantage | 100 Mbps | 20 Mbps | Provider-published standard tier |
| Premier | 500 Mbps | 20 Mbps | Provider-published standard tier |
| Gig | 1 Gbps | 35 Mbps | Provider-published standard tier |
| Premier | 572 Mbps typical | 23 Mbps typical | California label for a $50/month 12-month introductory offer; label lists $85/month afterward, subject to change |
| Gig | 1,159 Mbps typical | 1,050 Mbps typical | National label for a $70/month 12-month introductory offer; label lists $105/month afterward, subject to change |
| Assist | 57 Mbps typical | 11 Mbps typical | Label lists a $25/month non-introductory rate; eligibility limits apply |
| Internet 2 Gig | 2,056 Mbps typical | 1,002 Mbps typical | Provider-published disclosure; available in certain locations |
Standard tier figures are from Spectrum’s residential broadband disclosure. Typical speeds and offer qualifications are from the respective Spectrum Broadband Facts labels. A label’s typical speed is not a guarantee of the speed at every home.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Wi-Fi treatment depends on the plan and offer. The current online plan page says Advantage and Premier can add Advanced WiFi for $10/month, while Gig includes Advanced WiFi. A national Gig label likewise includes a modem and Advanced WiFi, but that label is specific to its offer; check yours before adding an equipment charge.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
The provider’s standard monthly charges list Advanced WiFi at $10, Invincible WiFi at $30, and WiFi Extender at $5 per extender. These are disclosure rates, not a reason to add Wi-Fi charges twice when an offer already includes the service. The Internet Assist label lists optional WiFi at $10/month and Invincible WiFi at $30/month.
Spectrum says customers may use their own modem or gateway. Check its equipment disclosure and modem policy for current compatibility rules before buying hardware. Owning equipment may affect equipment charges, but the available terms do not establish that every third-party router or advanced feature can replace Spectrum’s managed Wi-Fi service.

Which setup and other fees should you check?
One-time charges can change the cost of starting or changing service. Spectrum’s disclosure lists these fees; they apply according to its terms and your circumstances, and not every customer incurs every charge.
| Charge | Published amount |
|---|---|
| Activation | $20 |
| Professional installation | $50 |
| Change of service | $50 |
| Hourly labor | $50 |
| Reconnect | $5 |
| Late fee | Up to $8.95 |
| Declined autopayment | $5 |
| Early termination | $0 |
| Unreturned modem | $90 |
| Unreturned wireless router | $90 |
| Unreturned WiFi extender | $60 |
These amounts come from Spectrum’s residential broadband disclosure. Before ordering, check which setup charges apply to the specific installation method offered at your address. If you later return equipment, follow Spectrum’s return instructions and keep proof of return.
What else belongs in the comparison?
- Data: The cited Internet Assist and national Gig labels state unlimited data and no additional data charge. Confirm the label for any other offer rather than assuming identical terms.
- Contract: Internet Assist’s label says no contract. The provider disclosure lists a $0 early termination fee; check the terms of the offer you are considering for any other conditions.
- Taxes and optional equipment: The FCC explains that labels help consumers distinguish and compare plans, but optional equipment and geographically variable taxes can affect the total bill beyond the label price. The label is not necessarily an all-in monthly total.
- Eligibility and address: Internet Assist has eligibility limits, and higher tiers may not be available everywhere. Verify the order flow for the service address.
The FCC’s label rule is intended to make plans easier to differentiate and compare: FCC 22-86 explains that consumers must be able to distinguish each plan to compare offers within and across providers.

A practical way to compare two offers
- Enter your service address on Spectrum’s plan page and record the plan name and advertised monthly price.
- Open the matching Broadband Facts label and note the introductory period, later price, typical download and upload speeds, latency if shown, data terms, and included equipment.
- Add only charges that apply to your offer, such as optional Wi-Fi, activation, installation, or an extender. Do not add a Wi-Fi fee if the offer includes it.
- Compare the first 12 months and the period after the promotion separately. Include one-time setup costs in the first-period comparison and account for return charges only if equipment is not returned as required.
- For an existing account, check the bill for the current rate rather than treating the new-customer online offer as your price.
