Before deciding which offer is cheaper, open each retailer’s product page and compare the exact item’s current price, delivery charges, applicable taxes and purchase terms for your location.
Why check the retailer’s website?
Google Shopping displays product information supplied by participating sellers; the seller, not Google, completes the sale. Seller updates may take time to appear, so Google advises shoppers to check the seller’s product page for the most up-to-date information. Shipping can also vary by destination, delivery method and seller. The retailer’s site is where to confirm the final price and details such as applicable insurance or warranties. How to compare two offers fairly
- Match the exact product. Check the brand, model or product identifier, size, color, condition and everything included in the box. A similar-looking item, bundle or refurbished version is not a like-for-like alternative. Google Shopping filters such as price, size and technical specifications can help narrow results. - Open each retailer’s listing. Confirm that the selected variant is the one you intend to buy, then check its current price, stock status and any promotion conditions. A discount requiring a particular membership, payment method or coupon only counts if you can use it.
- Calculate the cost for your destination. Include the item price, discounts available to you, delivery or shipping, and applicable taxes. Google says its Shopping results show item price and applicable taxes, but shipping varies; market rules also affect how tax and price are presented. Use the retailer’s checkout or delivery estimate for your address to establish the amount you would actually pay. - Compare fulfillment and terms. Check delivery estimates, pickup availability and regional restrictions. On a marketplace page, identify the seller—not just the marketplace—and review return terms, support, warranty or insurance details. These can make two offers meaningfully different even when one has a lower price.
- Verify the amount at checkout. Prices, stock and promotions can change. Confirm the selected item and final payable amount immediately before placing the order; Google also cautions that tracked prices are dynamic and subject to change. Google Shopping Help: About price tracking on Google
Use Google price insights as context
For shoppers in the United States, Google’s price insights may label a price low, typical or high and show recent price movement. Google says its typical-price assessment draws on seller information from across the web, not only the offers displayed in Shopping. Its 30-day-low indicator is based on total price, which usually includes item price, discount and shipping. It is historical context, not a promise that the price will stay low or fall further: Google explicitly says the feature does not predict future price changes. Google Help: Get price insights

Google documents price tracking in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan and India. Availability is rolling out, and not every feature is available on every device or Google surface. A signed-in user may be able to track a product, choose options such as size or color, and set a target price when that option is offered. Google may send push notifications or email when a tracked price drops below the target. An alert is a prompt to recheck the retailer’s offer, not a guaranteed price or reservation. Does a cheaper Shopping listing qualify for a price match?
Not automatically. Price-match eligibility is set by the retailer you plan to buy from, and the lower offer may have to meet conditions about seller, country, currency, timing, product condition or bundle contents. Google Store’s policy, for example, limits matching to selected retail partners and sets its own timing rules and exclusions, including some third-party offers, bundles, pre-owned, refurbished or clearance items.
