There is no single “retention” number to compare across cloud YouTube loop services. Separate uploaded source videos stored by a provider from saved studio recordings and YouTube’s own live-stream archive. In the reviewed product pages, loop services describe storage capacity, but do not specify a fixed number of days that source files remain available.
First define what you mean by retention
A service may hold several different kinds of video, and each can follow a different rule:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Source media: the files you upload to a loop service so it can play them in a continuous broadcast.
- Cloud recordings: recordings created by a streaming studio during a broadcast or session.
- YouTube live archive: a replay YouTube may create from the live broadcast.
These are separate products and storage systems. A provider’s upload quota does not tell you how many days source videos are kept, and a YouTube archive does not prove that the provider retains your original files.

What YouTube archives—and what it may not
YouTube Help says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours long, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” It also warns, “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. YouTube Help: Archive live streams
#1 Best Overall
- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
That 12-hour guidance concerns YouTube’s archive of a live broadcast, not how long a loop provider keeps your uploaded source files. Do not assume a continuous 24/7 broadcast will produce one complete YouTube replay. YouTube DVR is also different: it lets viewers pause and rewind a live stream; it is not a source-file retention policy or a saved recording. YouTube Help: Turn on DVR on live streams
Compare the policies in separate rows
Use a comparison that records the type of content, the actual limit, and the consequence of reaching it. If a provider does not state a retention duration, record that rather than converting a capacity quota into an expiry promise.

| Service or system | What is retained | How the limit is described | What happens at the limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Uploaded videos used for a YouTube loop | 10 GB storage per slot, pooled across active slots; no fixed number of retention days is stated | Confirm account storage behavior and deletion terms with StreamNeo if a contractual retention period is essential |
| LiveReacting | Video, image, and music files in the user account | Plan-level GB allowances, maximum upload-file sizes, and stream-duration limits; no fixed source-file retention period is stated | The pricing page gives capacity and operating limits, not a source-file expiry schedule |
| Gyre | Videos uploaded to Gyre Storage for playlists and broadcasts | Storage capacity by plan; no fixed number of retention days is stated | The reviewed pages do not establish a source-file deletion schedule |
| StreamYard | Studio recordings | Recording-hours quota; its Help Center lists 50 recording-hours on Core and Advanced plans | When the allowance is exceeded, new studio recordings may not save; automatic deletion can remove the oldest recordings, which cannot be recovered |
| YouTube | Possible archive of a live broadcast | Archive guidance for streams shorter than 12 hours; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured | Do not rely on YouTube to create a complete archive of a continuous broadcast |
For StreamNeo, the per-slot storage allowance is capacity, not a stated number of days before a file expires. Its product is a cloud service for looping uploaded videos to YouTube; see StreamNeo for current product details. The other rows reflect the cited providers’ published descriptions, which can change.
What the provider pages establish
LiveReacting: account capacity and upload limits
LiveReacting’s pricing page lists account storage in gigabytes, maximum upload-file sizes, and stream-duration limits. One configuration shown on the page at the time it was reviewed included 30 GB of storage and a 6 GB maximum file size; other tiers list different limits. These are vendor plan limits, not promises of a retention period. Check the current LiveReacting pricing page before relying on a particular plan figure.

Gyre: cloud storage and looping workflow
Gyre describes uploading videos to Gyre Storage, arranging them into a looping playlist, scheduling a continuous broadcast, and running it through its cloud infrastructure. Its pages discuss plan storage capacity but do not establish a fixed source-video retention period in days. Those descriptions are vendor statements; review the current Gyre overview and Gyre guide for current product details.
StreamYard: recording-hours quota and deletion
StreamYard is primarily a streaming studio and recording-storage comparison, not a dedicated 24/7 looping service. Its Help Center measures storage in recording-hours. When an account exceeds its available hours, streaming can continue while new recordings may not be saved; automatic deletion can remove the oldest recordings to bring the account below its allowance. StreamYard says those deleted recordings cannot be recovered. Its page lists 50 recording-hours on Core and Advanced plans. See StreamYard Help: What is Storage?

Questions to ask before uploading a library
- Which files count? Ask whether the quota applies to source uploads, generated recordings, exports, or all account media.
- Is the limit capacity or time? Confirm whether it is measured in GB, file count, recording-hours, or days from upload.
- What occurs at capacity? Find out whether uploads are blocked, recording stops, old files are automatically deleted, or the service continues without saving new material.
- Can deletion be reversed? Do not assume a deleted file is recoverable. StreamYard specifically says its automatically deleted recordings cannot be recovered; for other providers, check current documentation or ask support.
- Does the policy cover cancellation or inactivity? Ask how long data remains if billing lapses, a slot is paused, or the account is closed, if those cases matter to you.
- Can you keep your own copy? Preserve original files locally or in separate storage, especially if the content is difficult to replace.
If a specific number of retention days matters for legal, archival, or operational reasons, get the answer from the provider’s current account terms or support in writing. The reviewed pages do not establish a fixed source-file retention duration for LiveReacting or Gyre, and StreamNeo’s stated storage allowance is not a duration guarantee.
