To compare archived page versions in Versionista, open a comparison link from a Versionista change-summary email or use the comparison tools associated with the monitored page. The viewer presents versions as a visual split with a slider, helping you locate what is new, removed, or different. The documented email workflow compares earlier captures with the latest version; the available guidance does not establish a precise click-by-click method for choosing any two arbitrary archived captures.
Open a comparison from a captured page
Start with the monitored page or its Versionista change-summary email. Versionista’s tutorial describes email links that open comparisons between previously captured versions and the most recent version. It also describes comparison tools associated with a monitored page, but does not specify a current sequence of button names for selecting any pair of captures. Use the controls shown in your account rather than relying on an assumed menu path. Versionista

The comparison viewer uses a split-page view and slider to help inspect additions, removals, and other differences between captures. Move through the page and compare the same areas in each version. The viewer helps locate changes; deciding whether a change matters requires context about the page and the dates of the captures.

- Check the capture dates or versions being compared before interpreting a difference.
- Look for new, missing, and altered content, including changes outside the main body, such as navigation or notices.
- Distinguish a meaningful page edit from dynamic or frequently changing content that may not be relevant to your monitoring goal.
How keyword monitoring and filters affect comparisons
Configured keywords or phrases determine whether Versionista registers a new version. Once a version is recorded, the comparison viewer shows all changes in that comparison, not only changes involving the configured terms. Keyword settings therefore control the trigger for recording, not the scope of what the viewer displays.
Filters can include or exclude page areas before keyword matching. Versionista advises that it can be easier to monitor broadly and filter out irrelevant areas than to maintain a list of predictable terms. That is vendor guidance, not a rule for every monitoring task: use filters and keywords according to whether you need broad change detection or specific phrase-based alerts.

Choose settings for the comparison you need
- Broad review: Monitor changes broadly, then exclude noisy page areas with filters if they obscure useful differences.
- Term-focused alerts: Configure relevant words or phrases to determine when a new version is recorded, while remembering that the viewer will show all changes in that recorded comparison.
- Reviewing an email alert: Follow the link to see an earlier capture compared with the latest version, and account for the documented one-week temporary-public window on these links.
- Comparing a particular pair of older captures: Confirm that the current account interface supports selecting that pair. The published guidance cited here does not document the exact steps for arbitrary captures.
Account availability
Versionista’s homepage says new monitoring accounts are available through Fluxguard and that existing Versionista accounts remain supported. It does not establish feature equivalence, pricing, or the exact availability of individual comparison controls in either service. Check the live service and your account before relying on a specific workflow.
