To clear Brave’s cached files, open brave://settings/clearBrowserData on desktop, choose a time range, select the cached-files option, and clear the data. On Android, use Menu → Settings → Brave Shields and Privacy → Clear browsing data → Delete browsing data. Brave’s iOS guidance confirms how to clear selected browsing data, but does not specify a separate cache-only option or a full menu path.
Cache, cookies and site data, and browsing history are separate choices. If you want to clear only cached files, check the selected data types before confirming so you do not remove other data unintentionally.

Clear cache in Brave on desktop
- Open Brave’s menu and choose Settings. For a direct route, enter
brave://settings/clearBrowserDatain the address bar. - Choose the desired time range.
- Select the cached-files option. Review the other selected categories; leave cookies and site data or browsing history unchecked if you do not want to remove them.
- Click Clear data.
You can also open the data-clearing options with Ctrl+Shift+Delete on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+Delete on macOS. Brave says this shortcut can be customized under Settings → System → Shortcuts.

Clear cache in Brave on Android
- Open Brave, tap Menu → Settings → Brave Shields and Privacy.
- Scroll to Clear browsing data and tap Delete browsing data.
- Choose the data types to remove and select a time range. Choose All Time if you want the selected data cleared across the full available time range.
- Tap Delete data.
Review the selected data types before confirming. Brave warns that deleting data cannot be undone.

Remove data for one site
To target a particular site rather than clear data across sites, open Settings → Site settings → All Sites (or Data stored) and select that site’s stored data.
Clear selected data when Brave exits
In Brave Shields and Privacy, turn on Clear data on exit and choose what to clear. This runs when the app is fully closed; minimizing Brave or switching to another app does not trigger it.

Clear browsing data in Brave on iPhone or iPad
Brave’s iOS privacy guidance says to choose the data types you want to remove and tap Clear Data Now. It warns that the action cannot be reversed. The guidance does not provide a full menu path or explicitly name a separate cached-files option, so the exact cache-only controls may depend on the current app interface. Check the choices shown in your installed version rather than assuming that clearing all data removes only cache.

What clearing cache does—and what it does not do
Cached files are stored page resources. Removing them is a reasonable troubleshooting step when old stored information may be interfering with a page, but it is not a guaranteed fix. Cookies and site data are a different category and can affect saved site sessions; browsing history is another separate category. The practical safeguard on desktop and Android is to select only the data types you intend to remove.

If a page still will not load
Brave’s support guidance for crashes and loading errors includes clearing cache as one possible step, not a certain remedy. If the problem remains, check your internet connection and try opening the page in a Private window. These checks can help distinguish a stored-data issue from a broader connection or page problem.
