For the indoor filter covered by Blue Star’s cleaning instructions, lift the unit’s panel, remove the filter by its knobs, wash it with normal-temperature water and a light brush, let it dry completely, then reinstall it. Blue Star suggests cleaning every 30 days depending on usage; check your model’s manual before washing any other filter stage.
How to clean the indoor filter
Blue Star’s FAQ gives this procedure for the filter in its answer about an Anti-Virus AC filter. It instructs users to clean the filter with “normal temperature water and light brush.”

- Lift the indoor-unit panel by holding it horizontally from both sides.
- Hold the filter knobs and remove the filter from the indoor unit.
- Clean the filter with normal-temperature water and a light brush.
- Wait until the filter is completely dry.
- Refit the dry, cleaned filter in the indoor unit.
Blue Star’s FAQ does not specify detergent, chemical cleaner, hot water, compressed air, or a particular brush. Do not treat those as manufacturer instructions. If you cannot remove the filter as described, stop and consult the manual for your exact model rather than forcing the panel or filter.

Blue Star says to clean the AC filter “every 30 days, depending on your usage” for better cooling performance. This is the manufacturer’s usage-dependent suggestion, not a universal interval for every model or household. Follow the schedule in your model’s manual if it differs.

Check the model before cleaning other filter stages
Blue Star models can use different filter arrangements. For example, its HTYFAN international product page lists five stages: catalyst, HEPA, active carbon, silver ion, and dust filters. That example does not establish that every Blue Star AC has those stages or that they are all washable.
Before removing or washing a secondary filter, check the manual supplied with your unit. Confirm which components are removable and whether the manual permits washing them; do not assume the FAQ’s indoor-filter method applies to every stage. Keep filter cleaning separate from coil or internal-unit work
Blue Star lists separate DIY videos for split-AC filter cleaning and coil cleaning. The filter steps above are not a coil-cleaning procedure. For coils or other internal parts, use the instructions for your model or contact Blue Star service rather than extending the removable-filter method. Warranty and replacement questions
Blue Star’s warranty page lists air filters among items excluded from the stated standard warranty. Check the warranty terms and certificate for your specific unit before assuming a replacement filter is covered. The available product information does not establish that filters are interchangeable across models, so match any replacement to the exact AC model and filter stage.
