Before you remove the filter

Clean a Samsung US micro-filter arrangement

- Turn off the dishwasher, open the door and remove the lower rack.
- Turn the filter handle counterclockwise to unlock the filter cover, then lift the cover out.
- Remove the micro filter from underneath the cover.
- Rinse the removed components under running water. If debris remains, gently brush it with a toothbrush; avoid force that could damage the filter.
- Dry the parts, place the micro filter and cover back in their correct positions, then turn the handle clockwise to lock the assembly.
Clean a Samsung UK fine-filter arrangement
On the fine-filter arrangement described by Samsung UK, turn the filter counterclockwise to unfasten it and lift it out. Rinse it and gently brush away debris, then reassemble in reverse order and turn clockwise until secure. Some models have an additional fine-filter component that also needs to be removed and cleaned; check the manual so you do not leave part of the assembly dirty or misassembled. When to consider a deeper clean
Samsung Canada’s guidance for its described filter and door includes soaking them overnight in distilled white vinegar before rinsing and reinstalling. That is regional and model-specific advice, not a universal requirement for Samsung dishwashers; use it only if it matches your appliance’s instructions.
