Turn off and unplug your Galaxy phone, then gently wipe each camera lens with a clean, soft, dry microfiber cloth or camera lens cloth. Use very light pressure. Avoid tissues, paper towels, liquids, and cleaning solutions: Samsung warns these can scratch or damage the lens or let moisture reach the phone’s internal components.
What you need
- A clean, soft, dry, lint-free microfiber cloth or camera lens cleaning cloth.
- A clear path to the camera area; remove a case or accessory if it blocks access.
Samsung recommends a soft, dry cloth for camera lenses and identifies microfiber as suitable. A dedicated camera lens cloth is also an option; no particular brand is required.

How to clean the camera lens
- Power down and unplug the phone. Remove any case or accessory that gets in the way of the camera area.
- Check the cloth. Use one that is clean, soft, lint-free, and completely dry.
- Wipe gently. With minimal pressure, wipe the lens to lift dust or smudges. If your Galaxy has multiple rear cameras, clean each lens.
- Check the result. If a smudge remains, make another gentle pass with the cloth. Do not press harder or change to a tissue, paper towel, or liquid cleaner.
Samsung’s camera-lens instructions say to avoid too much pressure because it can scratch or damage the lens. The same instructions warn against paper towels or tissues and against applying liquids or cleaning solutions to the lens.

What not to use on the lens
- Paper towels or tissues: Samsung warns that these can scratch the lens.
- Liquids or cleaning solutions: They may damage the lens or seep into internal components. Follow the camera-specific advice even if your phone is water-resistant.
- Hard pressure or vigorous scrubbing: More force is not a safer way to remove a stubborn mark.
Samsung’s general Galaxy-device cleaning guidance discusses a slightly damp cloth for stubborn dirt on device surfaces, but that broader advice is not for the camera lens. For the lens, use the camera-specific instruction: a soft, dry cloth and no cleaning liquid.

If photos are still blurry after cleaning
Do not keep scrubbing. Samsung notes that accessories such as camera protectors can affect focus and image clarity. Check whether a protector or other accessory is interfering with the camera, and if the problem persists, use Samsung support to investigate other causes.
