To get the Hero Cape, play Minecraft Dungeons and then log into Minecraft Dungeons II with the same Microsoft account by December 31, 2026. Once the cape is available in Dungeons II, sign into Java Edition and/or Bedrock Edition with that account to unlock it there. Minecraft’s official promotion instructions describe this account-linked route.
How do I get the Minecraft Dungeons Hero Cape?

Use the Microsoft account you plan to use in Dungeons II. Your qualifying Minecraft Dungeons activity needs to be associated with that account. Activity completed without signing in to a Microsoft account may not count, according to Minecraft Help.

Check that the cape is available in Dungeons II. The cape becomes equippable there first. Grant processing can take time after the game detects qualifying activity, and Minecraft Help does not promise a specific wait.
Can I get the Hero Cape in Java or Bedrock?
Yes. After the reward is available in Dungeons II, launch Minecraft: Java Edition and/or Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and sign in with the same Microsoft account. The cape can then be unlocked in those editions. See Minecraft’s promotion guide for the stated steps.

Do I need to own both games?
No. Minecraft’s Dungeons II FAQ says you can receive the cape entitlement by joining a friend’s co-op session, provided you log in with the same Microsoft account. The FAQ also says eligible activity through Game Pass or Steam counts when you use that account for the relevant activity and Dungeons II.

Make sure you launched Dungeons II with that account so the game can detect the qualifying activity.

Allow time for entitlement processing. Minecraft Help says processing may take time but gives no guaranteed duration.
