Choose the Razer Wolverine V4 Pro if you want wireless play and removable, configurable hardware; choose the Razer Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition if you prefer a wired setup with competitive controls. Both are positioned by Razer for Xbox and PC. The clearest deciding question is whether you want a cable-free controller or the Tournament Edition’s wired design.
At a glance: Pro vs. Tournament Edition
| What matters most | Model to consider | Razer’s stated features |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless play and removable hardware | Wolverine V4 Pro | Wireless Xbox and PC controller; removable magnetic back buttons, interchangeable thumbstick caps, removable faceplate, and four onboard profiles. Razer Wolverine V4 Pro |
| Wired competitive play | Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition | Wired Xbox and PC controller; four mouse-click back buttons, dual-mode adjustable triggers, macro bumpers, a 2 m cable, and four onboard profiles. Razer Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition |
Choose the Pro if you want wireless play and more physical customization
The Pro is the V4 option to consider if you want to play without a cable. Razer also lists removable magnetic back buttons, interchangeable thumbstick caps, and a removable faceplate, giving you more scope to change the controller’s physical layout. It has four onboard profiles, according to Razer’s product page.

Razer’s Pro page describes the sticks as using capacitive contactless sensors. It also uses “Hall Effect” in its FAQ, but that conflicts with the page’s capacitive description and Razer’s own comparison of capacitive sensors with Hall Effect counterparts. For that reason, it is more accurate to call them capacitive contactless sensors than to label them Hall Effect.

Razer’s Pro page gives conflicting battery claims: one section says up to 27 hours, while its FAQ says up to 40 hours. The official page does not establish which figure should be treated as the current specification, so neither is a reliable single-number estimate for planning a session.

Choose the Tournament Edition if you prefer a wired controller
The Tournament Edition is Razer’s wired V4 model. Its listed controls include four mouse-click back buttons, dual-mode adjustable triggers, and macro bumpers; Razer also specifies a 2 m cable and four onboard profiles. These features make it the more direct fit if a wired connection suits your setup and you do not need the Pro’s removable faceplate and swappable thumbstick caps. See Razer’s Tournament Edition specifications.
Understand the polling-rate claims by platform
Razer’s October 6, 2026 announcement states up to 250 Hz on Xbox Series X|S for the Wolverine V4 line and up to 8,000 Hz on PC. The product pages likewise describe the 8,000 Hz maximum as a PC figure. Do not read the PC maximum as an Xbox polling rate. These are Razer-published claims, not independently tested results. A simple decision rule
- Decide whether you want a cable. For wireless play, consider the Pro; for a wired setup, consider the Tournament Edition.
- Ask whether removable hardware matters. The Pro lists removable back buttons, interchangeable thumbstick caps, and a removable faceplate.
- Compare the current price and availability in your market. The UK prices and ship dates above are a snapshot from October 7, 2026, not a lasting or worldwide offer.
- Keep platform claims separate. Razer’s 8,000 Hz maximum is for PC; its announcement lists up to 250 Hz for Xbox Series X|S.
