Choose a De’Longhi coffee maker by starting with the drinks you actually make and how much work you want to do: drip coffee, hands-on espresso, one-touch automatic espresso, capsules, or a machine that combines coffee and espresso. Then check the exact model’s milk system, drink menu, dimensions, care requirements, price, and local availability. The details below reflect De’Longhi’s US range; models and specifications can vary by market and change over time.
Start with the kind of coffee you want to make
De’Longhi’s US assortment spans several different brewing approaches. Picking the right one first is more useful than comparing feature counts across machines built for different routines. The brand’s coffee maker categories include drip, automatic and manual espresso, Nespresso machines, and all-in-one coffee and espresso models.

Drip coffee for larger servings
De’Longhi describes drip coffee makers as suited to larger quantities and typically producing a smoother, milder cup than espresso. Its TrueBrew line is a bean-to-cup drip option: it has a built-in burr grinder and uses the brand’s Bean Extract Technology, with one-touch hot or iced brewing. Consider this route if you want brewed coffee rather than espresso-based drinks.

Automatic espresso for fewer preparation steps
Automatic espresso machines are designed to make drinks with one-touch operation. De’Longhi positions Magnifica Evo as an essentials-focused family, Dinamica Plus as offering a broader hot espresso and milk-drink range with a full-touch display and app, and Eletta Explore as offering 50-plus hot and cold recipes along with hot and cold foam. That 50-plus figure is the manufacturer’s claim for the Eletta Explore family, not a feature count that applies across the lineup. Check the specific model’s menu and controls before buying.

Manual espresso for a more hands-on routine
Manual espresso machines give you more direct involvement in brewing and, where equipped, milk texturing. That means more control, but also more steps and practice than a one-touch workflow. Within the Dedica family, the wand and included tools differ: De’Longhi lists an Auto LatteArt wand on Dedica Maestro Plus and a My LatteArt wand on Dedica Arte. Compare the exact model rather than assuming every Dedica has the same setup.

Capsules or coffee and espresso in one machine
Nespresso machines by De’Longhi are a separate category for people who prefer a capsule system. Before choosing one, confirm the exact machine’s capsule compatibility and consider the ongoing need to buy capsules in that format.

All-in-one machines combine coffee and espresso in a single appliance. The category name alone does not establish capacity, controls, or whether a model can brew both styles simultaneously, so verify those details on the specific product page.
Compare the workflow and milk setup
Ask how involved you want to be each time you make a drink. Automatic espresso machines reduce preparation steps; manual machines ask you to participate more in brewing and milk preparation. De’Longhi frames this choice as “touch-of-a-button efficiency” versus a more creative hands-on experience in its US coffee-machine guidance.
Rank #3
- PERSONALIZE WITH MY LATTE: Allows you to personalize and save your own recipes
- EASY TO CLEAN: Removable and dishwasher-safe parts for easy cleaning
For milk drinks, check the particular model’s system and menu rather than relying on a family name or a general feature description:
- Is the milk prepared with a manual steam wand or an automatic system?
- Which milk drinks does the exact model offer?
- If it has a milk carafe, does it require separate handling or storage?
- What cleaning steps does the manual specify?
On supported machines, De’Longhi’s LatteCrema system is described as automatically producing foam from milk or plant-based drinks and cleaning itself. LatteCrema is not available across the entire product range, so confirm its presence and the cleaning instructions for the model you are considering.

Check fit, care, and the exact model details
Measure the available space
Measure the counter area and the clearance beneath cabinets, then compare those measurements with the exact machine’s official specifications. The reviewed category pages do not provide a complete dimensions comparison, so they cannot establish that any one family will fit every small kitchen. De’Longhi describes Dedica as a compact range and calls one model a slim 6-inch design; verify the current model’s stated measurement before relying on it.

Plan for cleaning and descaling
Care is part of the routine, not an afterthought. De’Longhi recommends regular descaling for manual espresso machines and lists care products including EcoMulticlean, water filters, cleaning tablets, and EcoDecalk. Consult the machine’s instruction manual and account for your local water conditions to determine what applies. Compatibility is model-specific; not every filter or cleaner is suitable for every machine.

Verify the buying details before deciding
Use the current product page for the specific model to confirm its drink menu, dimensions, accessories, price, availability, and warranty terms in your market. De’Longhi’s displayed prices and product specifications can change, and a family-level description does not guarantee that every model includes the same features.
A practical decision checklist
- Choose the brew style: drip, manual espresso, automatic espresso, capsules, or an all-in-one machine.
- Set your preferred involvement: decide whether you want one-touch preparation or more control over brewing and milk preparation.
- Confirm the drinks and milk system: check the exact model’s menu, wand or automatic system, and milk-cleaning steps.
- Check kitchen fit and upkeep: compare official dimensions and clearance with your space, and read the machine’s care instructions.
- Compare current purchase details: verify price, included accessories, availability, and warranty for your market.
These criteria help narrow the choice, but they do not establish which machine tastes best or lasts longest: the cited manufacturer pages do not provide independent comparative results for taste, durability, noise, or long-term reliability.
