Four size-led TV recommendations under $2,000, with practical tradeoffs for bright rooms, wide seating, gaming and sale pricing.

For a TV under $2,000, choose the screen size and room fit first, then weigh glare, viewing angle and gaming features. The strongest size-led options in this shortlist are the 65-inch LG C6 OLED 2026, 75-inch Hisense U7SG, 85-inch TCL QM7K and 98-inch TCL QM6K. Some larger sizes meet the budget only when on sale, so check the price for the exact model and size before buying.

Compare the four picks by size

These are not four interchangeable TVs: each is a recommendation for a different screen-size category. The performance descriptions and recommendations below are RTINGS’ assessments, not guarantees for every room or viewing setup. The guide was updated August 25, 2026; prices and stock can change.

Model and size Best fit Gaming connections and refresh support Main tradeoffs Under-$2,000 price context
LG C6 OLED 2026, 65 inches Dark-room viewing, wide seating, deep blacks and vibrant color Four HDMI ports; 4K at 165Hz with VRR, according to RTINGS Reflections can remain visible in very bright spaces RTINGS says the 65-inch size regularly falls below $2,000 during sales. Its 55-inch size is consistently under that threshold.
Hisense U7SG, 75 inches Bright rooms where glare reduction matters Four HDMI 2.1 ports; 4K at 165Hz and 1080p at 330Hz with VRR, according to RTINGS Narrower viewing angle than the LG C6 RTINGS highlights the 75-inch pick; it also says the 85-inch version regularly dips below $2,000 on sale.
TCL QM7K, 85 inches A large screen at a lower cost than the Hisense U7SG, when priced appropriately Two HDMI 2.1 ports; 4K at 144Hz and 1080p at 288Hz with VRR, according to RTINGS Less bright and somewhat less saturated than the U7SG, with more blooming; narrow viewing angle and reflections from light directly facing the screen The guide names it as the 85-inch pick but does not state a fixed price or sale frequency for this size.
TCL QM6K, 98 inches Prioritizing a very large screen near the budget ceiling Two HDMI 2.1 ports; 4K at 144Hz and 1080p at 288Hz with VRR, according to RTINGS Compared with the QM7K, colors are more muted and blacks less bold; narrow viewing angle and reflections can be a problem in bright rooms RTINGS says the 98-inch model can regularly be found just below $2,000 on sale.

Choose the size and check the room

Start with the size that physically fits your room and suits your seating distance. The recommendation guide does not give a viewing-distance measurement, so measure the space and consider your own seating layout rather than treating a model’s size category as a distance rule. Also check that the television’s dimensions fit the intended stand or wall area.

Match the TV to your lighting and seating

Bright room or windows opposite the screen

RTINGS emphasizes the U7SG’s brightness and matte screen as advantages for reducing glare. That does not mean reflections disappear in every setup: the C6 can show visible reflections in very bright spaces, and direct light can reflect on the QM7K. The QM6K is also a less compelling choice for bright rooms when reflections are a concern.

Seats spread across the room

The LG C6 is the wide-angle option among these four. RTINGS describes the U7SG and both TCL models as having narrower viewing angles, which can make them less suitable when viewers sit well off to the sides.

Dark-room viewing and image character

The C6 is RTINGS’ dark-room choice, with OLED’s deep blacks and vibrant color. The QM7K offers deeper blacks than the U7SG in RTINGS’ comparison, but has more blooming, less saturated color and lower brightness. The QM6K is a step down from the QM7K in image characteristics according to the guide, with less bold blacks and more muted color.

Compare gaming support before connecting devices

All four recommendations support variable refresh rate (VRR), but their port counts and stated refresh modes differ. RTINGS reports four HDMI 2.1 ports on the U7SG and two on each TCL. It lists four HDMI ports on the C6, supporting 4K at 165Hz with VRR.

The higher stated refresh modes may matter if your gaming PC or console can output them, but check the exact model’s specifications and your device’s supported resolution and frame rate. Port count also matters if you plan to connect several gaming devices directly to the TV.

Consider the alternatives for specific priorities

Samsung S90H OLED

RTINGS says the S90H’s matte coating minimizes reflections better than the LG C6. The C6, in turn, is described as having brighter HDR highlights, Dolby Vision and an edge in processing. These are tradeoffs to weigh if glare control is more important to you than those C6 advantages.

LG B5 OLED

The B5 offers OLED blacks, wider viewing angles and crisp motion, but RTINGS describes it as less versatile in bright rooms than the U7SG.

Hisense U65QF

RTINGS describes the U65QF as brighter than the TCL QM6K. It favors the QM6K for black levels, accuracy, input lag and 1080p at 288Hz support.

Verify the price of the exact model and size

The under-$2,000 claim is not a fixed price guarantee. Some size-specific recommendations depend on sales, especially the 65-inch C6 and 98-inch QM6K. Before placing an order, confirm the listed size and model match the recommendation and that the price is below your limit at checkout. The RTINGS guide was updated August 25, 2026, and its status as accessed October 7, 2026 does not establish today’s inventory or price.
