Choose the Retroid Pocket Nova if your library is mainly classic games designed for 4:3 screens; choose the Pocket 6 if you also play widescreen games or Android titles and want a larger display. Their reported chipsets are in the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 class, so the clearest distinction is screen format—not a proven speed advantage.

Which screen suits your game library?
Choose the Nova for a mostly classic 4:3 library
The Nova’s 4:3 panel matches the shape of many older games, so those games can use more of the screen without the wide unused areas that can appear when a 4:3 image is shown on a 16:9 display. It is the more natural fit if classic systems make up most of your play. Not every retro game uses 4:3, so check the systems and titles you care about rather than treating the ratio as universal.
Choose the Pocket 6 for widescreen play and a larger panel
The Pocket 6’s 16:9 screen is a better shape for widescreen games and many modern Android titles. At 5.5 inches, it is also physically larger than the Nova’s 4.5-inch display. Held Games’ comparison, updated October 1, 2026, likewise frames the choice around classic 4:3 content versus a mix of retro and modern play; that is format-based advice, not a controlled test.

Is one faster or longer-lasting?
The reported Nova chipset is Qualcomm’s QCS8550, described as Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-class; the Pocket 6 is listed with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The available comparison evidence does not establish a benchmark winner, so raw speed is not a sound basis for choosing between them.
The Pocket 6 has a higher stated battery capacity—6,000 mAh versus 5,000 mAh—but capacity alone does not establish how long either device lasts per charge. No measured comparative runtime is available here. The Nova is also lighter on reported specifications, at 255 g versus 320 g; those figures do not establish which device feels more comfortable during long sessions.
