Is there a Paramount+ and HBO Max bundle?
The HBO Max plan page lists a bundle with Disney+ and Hulu, but the reviewed provider information does not confirm a bundle with Paramount+. Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery announced that their merger was expected to close on October 6, 2026, subject to customary conditions. That anticipated date is not confirmation that the transaction closed or that a consumer streaming bundle exists. Check the companies’ current announcements and checkout pages before making a decision; the merger announcement by itself does not establish a price, package, or launch date.

Work out whether keeping both is worth it
Adding the two lowest listed monthly prices—Paramount+ Essential at $8.99 and HBO Max Basic with Ads at $10.99—comes to $19.98 before tax. Adding the top listed monthly tiers—Paramount+ Premium at $13.99 and HBO Max Premium at $22.99—comes to $36.98 before tax. Those totals do not show whether both services are worthwhile for your household: that depends on what you watch and which features you need.

- Keep both if each service has distinct shows or live programming you expect to watch during the same billing period and the combined cost fits your budget.
- Choose one if one service covers nearly all your must-watch titles, or if you can watch the other service’s programming in a later month instead of paying for both at once.
- Compare tiers separately from services. A household might need a higher tier for downloads, more streams, select sports, or picture and audio features; another might be satisfied with an entry plan. Avoid paying for upgrades nobody will use.
Adding two monthly service prices is not evidence that the catalogues contain duplicate titles. The available plan information identifies different brand lineages—Paramount+ promotes programming from CBS, BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and VH1, while HBO Max features HBO and Warner Bros. programming—but does not provide a dated, title-by-title overlap audit.
Check your watch list instead of guessing at overlap
- Write down the shows and films each household member expects to watch during the next month or two.
- Search each service’s current catalogue for those specific titles. Availability can change, so do not rely on an old list or assume a title is on both services.
- Mark which titles are time-sensitive, including live programming, and which can wait until a later subscription month.
- Choose the lowest tier on each service that supports the household’s needed features, then compare the monthly total with the cost of subscribing to one service at a time.
Check ads, streams, downloads, and live programming
- Ads: Paramount+ describes Premium as ad-free for on-demand programming, but says live TV has ads. HBO Max Basic with Ads is its entry option. Check the plan terms for the programming you watch rather than treating “ad-free” as a promise about every feed or programme.
- Concurrent streams: Paramount+ advertises up to three simultaneous streams. HBO Max Basic with Ads and Standard allow two; Premium allows four, or two for sports.
- Downloads: Paramount+ advertises downloads on Premium. HBO Max Standard allows 30 downloads and Premium allows 100.
- Picture and sound: HBO Max Premium includes 4K and Dolby Atmos where available. Check title and device compatibility before upgrading for these features.
- Live viewing: Paramount+ Premium includes a live local CBS feed. HBO Max Standard and Premium include select live sports. Confirm that the particular local feed or sports coverage you want is included for your plan.
Decide whether an annual payment makes sense
A 2026 TechRadar comparison lists Paramount+ annual prices of $89.99 for Essential and $139.99 for Premium; these are not provider checkout figures, so verify the current annual price, renewal amount, and cancellation terms with Paramount+ before paying upfront. Compare an annual payment with the number of months you realistically expect to subscribe. An annual plan may be a poor fit if you expect to cancel after a short run of shows or want to switch services month by month. Billing-provider terms can differ, so check the checkout and account settings for the subscription you would actually purchase.
