1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsNeither KnownHost nor Hosting.com is a universal winner. KnownHost is a clear candidate if you want a defined managed WordPress plan for one site and value its listed resources and backup schedule. Hosting.com is worth comparing if you need shared hosting for several sites, included managed migration and daily off-server backups, or a path to VPS and dedicated hosting. Choose by matching the exact plan, renewal cost, management scope and terms—not by comparing headline starting prices.
How the two providers differ
Both sell hosting services, not hardware. Their product ranges overlap, but the plan details available here are not a like-for-like comparison: KnownHost publishes a specific managed WordPress Entry plan, while Hosting.com’s US page gives a shared-hosting comparison and describes other server options.

Which is the better fit for WordPress?
Consider KnownHost for a defined single-site managed plan
KnownHost’s published WordPress Entry plan is specific about its stated site count, memory, storage and monthly visits. It also lists LiteSpeed/LSCache, unlimited premium bandwidth, free professional migration and scheduled backups. These are provider-published specifications, not independent performance measurements; confirm the current configuration and terms before purchase. See KnownHost’s managed WordPress plan

Hosting.com says WordPress can be installed with one click on any plan and describes malware protection, automated patching, staging, free migration and daily backups. It also offers a managed WordPress option for customers who want provider-managed updates, tuning and security. Do not assume those hands-off services apply identically to general shared hosting: check the specific plan’s management scope. Hosting.com WordPress options
No comparable performance test establishes that either provider is faster or more reliable for WordPress. Caching features, hardware descriptions and vendor performance claims are not substitutes for a measured head-to-head result.
What the published prices do—and do not—tell you
KnownHost lists WordPress Entry at $5.98 per month when billed annually, renewing at $11.95 per month. That is an introductory-term monthly equivalent and a separate renewal rate; budget using the renewal price if you expect to keep the plan. KnownHost WordPress pricing
Rank #2
Hosting.com’s US page search result shows shared hosting from $2.99 per month, discounted from $11.99, and WordPress from $5.83 per month, discounted from $10.41. The available information does not establish a matching plan or exact renewal schedule for either figure, so they cannot support a fair direct price verdict against KnownHost’s annual-billed Entry plan. - Compare the same product type and billing term, then calculate the first-term total and renewal total.
- Confirm the number of sites, storage, resource or traffic limits, and any add-ons you need.
- Check checkout for the amount due now and the amount charged at renewal; introductory monthly equivalents can obscure the billing commitment.
Compare backups, migration and support terms
Backup frequency alone is not enough to judge recovery protection. Compare retention, restore points, whether copies are stored off-server, and how restoration is requested or charged. KnownHost’s listed WordPress plan describes default two-day and one-week retention; Hosting.com’s US shared page describes daily off-server backups with restore points within the prior 30 days. Confirm those details for the exact plan you are considering. KnownHost backup details; Hosting.com backup details
Both providers list migration on the cited plans, but “free migration” does not by itself define what the service covers. Before switching, ask whether the provider will move all sites, mailboxes and databases, whether migration is limited by account size or platform, and what happens if the move needs manual cleanup. Also verify the support channel and whether support includes WordPress application troubleshooting or only the hosting environment.
Check guarantees by region and plan
Hosting.com’s US page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its Canadian package-comparison page lists a 99.95% uptime guarantee and a 30-day money-back guarantee for the plans shown there; another localized result states a 99.9% uptime SLA. These are not interchangeable universal terms. Confirm the guarantee, exclusions and refund window on the page and checkout applicable to your location and chosen product. A practical decision checklist
- Match the workload. Decide whether you need one WordPress site, several sites, mixed workloads, or VPS/dedicated capacity.
- Set the management level. Identify whether you expect the host to handle WordPress updates and tuning, or mainly provide the hosting environment.
- Compare total cost. Record the billing term, amount due today and renewal total for the same type of plan.
- Check limits and recovery. Verify resources, site limits, backup retention, restore process and migration scope.
- Confirm regional terms. Check the exact refund and uptime wording for the relevant plan and country.
On the available published details, KnownHost’s managed WordPress Entry is the more concrete option to assess for one WordPress site with stated resources and annual billing. Hosting.com’s displayed shared plans are more relevant if the starting requirement is multiple websites and included off-server daily backups. Neither comparison proves superior performance, and the final choice depends on matching equivalent plans and verifying current checkout terms.
