Colorlib describes it as plain HTML and CSS that can be used standalone or in Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 projects; that is the publisher’s description, not an independently tested installation. Check the specific download’s files, dependencies and license before using it.
What Bootstrap Footer V05 includes
Colorlib’s September 28, 2026 roundup describes V05 as a light, compact footer containing a logo, navigation row, email opt-in and copyright line. It is intended to take less vertical space than a larger footer with several link columns. That makes it a plausible fit for a landing page or site whose footer needs only a few destinations and a signup prompt.

The roundup says its snippets use plain HTML and CSS and can be used standalone or in Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 projects. Treat that as the roundup’s compatibility description, not a guarantee about every package or its current assets. Inspect the downloaded files and confirm the stylesheet and any linked assets match your project.

Choose the footer based on what visitors need at the bottom of the page, not simply because it is compact. V05 suits a short brand-and-navigation treatment with an opt-in. If visitors need multiple categories of links, prominent contact details, social links or app-download badges, a denser layout may be more useful.
#1 Best Overall
| Variant | Described layout | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| V01 | Dark, with a call to action and link columns | More prominent CTA and grouped links |
| V03 | Minimal, single-row footer | Less content than V05’s logo, navigation and opt-in combination |
| V04 | Dark, four-column footer | More room for grouped information |
| V05 | Compact and light, with logo, navigation, email opt-in and copyright | Short brand-and-signup treatment |
| V06 | Includes app-download badges | Designed to surface app downloads |
| V10 | Newsletter signup and three link columns | More link capacity alongside signup |
These are descriptions in Colorlib’s roundup, not comparative performance or accessibility tests. For additional layout ideas, MDBootstrap presents Bootstrap 5 examples spanning light-gray, four-column, minimal, company-details, newsletter, social-button and call-to-action footers. MDBootstrap says those examples are responsive; this is vendor guidance, not official Bootstrap documentation or evidence about V05.
How to adapt a downloaded footer snippet
- Inspect the package. Identify the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, icons and fonts it actually includes. Do not assume the package contents match a roundup description.
- Place the files in your project. Keep assets organized and update references to stylesheets, scripts and images so their paths resolve from the page where the footer will appear.
- Edit the markup and content. Replace the sample logo, navigation destinations, copyright text and any contact or social details with your own. Remove elements your site does not use.
- Connect the opt-in. A visible form is not, by itself, a subscription system. Connect its submission to your chosen email service, provide appropriate consent language, and test the complete submission flow before collecting addresses.
- Test the page. Check the footer at narrow and wide viewport sizes and in the browsers you support. Confirm links, form behavior, styling and asset loading.
- Deploy the finished files. Upload the updated page and assets using your normal publishing workflow, such as an FTP client or your hosting provider’s file manager, then verify the live page.
What to check before using it
- Responsive behavior: The available description calls V05 compact but does not establish how its exact markup behaves at every screen size. Test the actual files on phones and larger screens.
- Form handling: The description confirms an opt-in element, not a working mailing-list connection, consent wording or storage of submissions.
- Dependencies: Confirm the package’s required CSS, scripts and assets, and check that they fit your site’s Bootstrap version or standalone setup.
- License and attribution: Read the terms supplied for the exact download and vendor. The V05 description does not establish a package-specific license.
Do not assume another template’s license applies
Template licenses differ. For example, BootstrapMade’s license page says of its own Free License, “You must keep the footer credit line as is”. Its page also describes restrictions on paid client work and lists exclusions such as support and Sass/SCSS source. Those terms concern BootstrapMade templates; they do not establish the license for Colorlib’s V05. Check the current terms attached to the specific V05 download before publishing or removing attribution.
