Vendor feature lists are a starting point—not proof that controls are enabled, enforced by every connector, or sufficient for your organization’s retention and compliance needs.
Start with the deployment you need to secure
Before comparing platforms, write down the agents’ intended tasks, the data and systems they may touch, and whether they act as themselves or on behalf of an end user. Include the connectors and downstream services in scope: an orchestration layer’s permission check does not establish that a target service will enforce the same restriction.

What to evaluate before choosing a platform
Agent identity and accountability
Require an identifiable principal for each agent, a named owner or sponsor, and a clear account of whose authority it uses. Determine how the platform records delegated user context when an agent acts for a person, and how administrators can disable the agent or revoke its access. Check whether teams can discover agents centrally, review ownership, and retire identities without leaving credentials or permissions behind.

Permission scope and enforcement
Ask whether administrators can grant only the scopes and tools needed for a task, and whether read, write, delete, and administrative operations can be controlled separately. Confirm where authorization is checked: in the agent platform, at the connected tool, and at the downstream resource. Test actual resource-side outcomes rather than treating a policy setting or warning in a dashboard as proof that an action is blocked.
Policy changes and revocation
Look for a non-blocking evaluation mode—such as report-only or dry-run—that lets administrators inspect policy decisions before enforcing them. Find out how policy versions are reviewed, changed, and rolled back. Verify that revoking an agent identity or permission stops the relevant downstream operation, not merely future sign-ins to the orchestration layer.

- Multi Usages: With this tool, you could replicate the action of the manufacturer security pin but inserting it on either the top or bottom, dependent on model and pulling gently on the doorbell to release it.
Audit event coverage
Ask for an event catalog for the precise product and plan. It should distinguish what is recorded by default from what requires configuration, and identify coverage for sign-ins, agent sessions, tool calls, administrative changes, data reads and writes, failures, and denied actions. Do not assume that “audit logging” means every category is enabled: Google Cloud’s Agent Platform documentation, for example, says Data Access audit logs are disabled by default, with the exception of BigQuery Data Access logs.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteInvestigation, export, and retention
For the events you care about, check whether records identify the time, actor or agent, delegated user where applicable, action, affected resource, outcome, and a correlation identifier usable with downstream logs. Then establish who can read sensitive records, how they can be queried, and whether they can be routed or streamed to your SIEM or durable storage. Confirm retention, export limits, regional availability, and any plan or encryption-key restrictions in writing.

How the documented product examples differ
Official documentation describes controls in several product contexts. The table is a map of documented capabilities and qualifications, not a comparative security ranking or a substitute for testing your configuration.
| Product context | Documented capabilities | Qualification to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform | IAM roles and custom roles; audit-log categories with query and routing workflows; agent governance features with dry-run and enforced policy modes. | Data Access audit logs are disabled by default apart from BigQuery Data Access logs. Confirm event coverage and required configuration for the services and integrations you will use. |
| Microsoft Entra Agent ID | Distinct agent identities, identity governance, inherited OAuth scopes, Conditional Access, and agent sign-in and audit records. Microsoft also documents report-only evaluation. | Confirm the identity, scope, and log details available in your deployment, and validate downstream authorization as well as access-policy evaluation. |
| GitHub Copilot enterprise agent management | Administrator views for recent and active sessions, agent activity search, audit events, audit-log streaming, and a separate policy for IDE agent mode. | These capabilities apply to GitHub’s product and enterprise administration context. Verify which controls cover the specific agent modes and policies you intend to use. |
| Anthropic audit logs | Documented fields include creation time, actor, event, entity, and—when available—IP address, device ID, and user agent. Chat and project titles and content are not exported in audit logs; unique identifiers are used instead. | Anthropic says the export button is unavailable with customer-managed encryption keys on an Enterprise plan, while events remain available through the Compliance API. Check current plan details and the fields available to your organization. |
These examples do not establish that one platform is categorically more secure. As of the documentation accessed October 4, 2026, the available evidence is product- and configuration-specific; it does not provide a comparable published benchmark from which to assign a numeric security score or name a strongest platform.

Run a proof of concept that tests controls end to end
Use a representative, low-risk task and real integrations in a non-production environment where possible. Record expected outcomes before testing so that “it worked” does not get mistaken for “it was properly controlled.”
Recommended Free Tools
- Set the identity context. Create an agent identity and record its owner, purpose, allowed data, permitted tools, and whether it acts as itself or for a delegated user.
- Test authorization at the resource. Grant the minimum scopes needed for the task. Attempt a permitted read, an out-of-scope read, a write, and a destructive action. Check the result in the target service as well as in the agent platform.
- Verify the audit trail. Enable the event categories required for your investigation needs, then perform the same permitted and denied actions. Confirm that successful actions, denials, data access, and relevant administrative changes appear with enough actor and resource context to explain what occurred.
- Evaluate before enforcement. Run policy in report-only or dry-run mode, inspect the decisions, and resolve unexpected allowances or blocks. Enforce the policy only after review, then repeat the checks to verify the runtime and downstream resource behavior.
- Test revocation and recovery. Revoke the agent identity or a required permission and confirm that the downstream action stops. Check that the resulting events are visible and that administrators can restore an approved configuration without leaving excess access in place.
- Exercise log operations. Export or stream records to your investigation environment. Test search, correlation with application or resource logs, access restrictions, and retention against your operational requirements.
- Repeat for each important path. Test every connector and tool route that matters. A platform-level control cannot prove enforcement in an integration that bypasses or does not use that control.
Make the purchase decision on evidence, not feature names
Ask vendors to demonstrate your required identity, permission, denial, logging, export, and revocation cases in the plan and region you would buy. Keep the expected outcomes and test results with the procurement record. If a control is only described at a general product level, requires an unconfirmed plan, or cannot be verified at the downstream resource, treat it as unproven for your deployment until the gap is resolved.
