How to Choose a Strong Clash Royale C.H.A.O.S Sudden Death Deck

The August 2026 C.H.A.O.S Sudden Death event has ended. Compare three event-period deck recommendations and a historical tracker snapshot without treating either as a current ranking.

The C.H.A.O.S Sudden Death event listed for August 24–31, 2026 has ended. Supercell’s official schedule does not establish a later run or confirm what its card pool and modifiers would be, so these deck options are historical event-period recommendations—not a current or universal ranking.

How C.H.A.O.S Sudden Death worked

Supercell describes C.H.A.O.S as a mode where players build from a selected card pool and get several chances during a match to choose between two modifiers. Each modifier upgrades one card for the rest of that match; modifiers come in Common, Rare and Epic tiers. Supercell’s March 2026 announcement said C.H.A.O.S cards and league used Level 11 cards (Supercell’s March Update 2026).

The August event rules are described by Gaming Ally, rather than spelled out on Supercell’s schedule: the match began in Double Elixir, ended when the first Princess Tower fell, and had a five-minute limit with no overtime. If neither tower fell before time expired, tower damage decided the result (Gaming Ally’s August 25 guide).

Three event-period deck options

Gaming Ally published these lists during the event on August 25, 2026. Treat the descriptions and modifier priorities as that guide’s recommendations, not results from controlled testing.

Deck Cards Average elixir Plan and suggested modifiers
Executioner / double barrel / Suspicious Bush cycle Berserker, Executioner, Fireball, Suspicious Bush, Barbarian Barrel, The Log, Skeleton Army, Skeleton Barrel 2.9 The guide assigns most defense to Executioner and identifies Skeleton Barrel and Suspicious Bush as tower threats. It prioritizes Epic Suspicious Bush or Executioner, then Rare Fireball or Skeleton Army.
Witch / Firecracker / Skeleton Barrel Berserker, Electro Spirit, Firecracker, Skeleton Barrel, Skeleton Army, Fireball, Witch, Barbarian Barrel 2.9 The guide identifies Skeleton Barrel as the sole win condition, with Witch, Berserker and Firecracker forming the defensive core. Suggested picks are Epic Barbarian Barrel, Skeleton Barrel or Firecracker; or Rare Witch, Berserker, Fireball or Skeleton Army.
Electro Wizard / Knight / Tesla Fireball, Barbarian Barrel, Knight, Skeleton Army, Suspicious Bush, Tesla, Electro Wizard, Skeleton Barrel 3.1 The guide calls Electro Wizard modifier-sensitive. It suggests Common Knight and Tesla; Rare Skeleton Barrel, Skeleton Army or Fireball; and Epic Suspicious Bush, Barbarian Barrel or Electro Wizard.

Source for all three lists and their stated strategies: Gaming Ally, August 25, 2026.

How to choose between the lists

  • Want more than one pressure route? The Executioner list can threaten with both Skeleton Barrel and Suspicious Bush. The Witch list relies on Skeleton Barrel alone, according to the guide.
  • Prioritize a defensive core? The lists distribute defense differently: Executioner is central to the first, Witch, Berserker and Firecracker to the second, and Tesla, Knight and Electro Wizard to the third. Consider which cards you can support with your modifier choices.
  • Prefer a quicker cycle? The first two lists are listed at 2.9 average elixir; the Electro Wizard list is 3.1. A lower average is one factor in how readily a deck can cycle, not proof that it will win more often.
  • Plan modifier picks around the list. Because a selected modifier upgrades its card for the rest of the match, pick options that strengthen the deck’s intended pressure or defensive role rather than treating the modifier as a separate bonus.

What the tracker’s win-rate snapshot says

RoyaleTracker’s page for the event reports 92,171 battles across nine unique decks, with its latest data dated August 24, 2026. Its listed top deck was Night Witch, Skeleton Barrel, Electro Spirit, Suspicious Bush, Fireball, The Log, Barbarian Barrel and Heal Spirit, averaging 2.4 elixir. The tracker reported a 55.7% win rate across 409 battles for that deck (RoyaleTracker’s Chaos Sudden Death data).

That is a dated snapshot of one deck’s recorded battles, not evidence that the deck remains best or that the same performance would recur in a future event. It is not a like-for-like trial against the three guide recommendations.

What is known about a future run

Supercell’s April 2026 retrospective said C.H.A.O.S would leave rotation, with a return expected in July, and discussed possible changes including an updated card pool, modifier balancing or replacement, new formats such as Triple Draft, and deck-builder improvements. Those were plans described in April, not confirmation of the August Sudden Death rules (Supercell’s April 2026 update). The August seasonal announcement scheduled C.H.A.O.S Sudden Death for August 24–31 alongside other variants (Supercell’s August 2026 season announcement). The official materials cited here do not announce another Sudden Death run or establish its future rules, so a re-release would call for fresh deck and modifier information.
