A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11A prebuilt gaming PC under $1,000 can be a sensible Fortnite buy, but no source here establishes a current, independently tested winner or guarantees a particular frame rate. A CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR configuration with an Intel Core i5-13400F and GeForce RTX 5060 8GB is a candidate to check—not a verified current deal: a June 1, 2026 guide listed it at $749, and that dated price does not confirm today’s price, stock, exact configuration, seller, shipping, warranty, or return terms. Start with the resolution and settings you want, then verify the live listing and its full specifications before buying.
What a Fortnite PC under $1,000 needs to do
“Runs Fortnite” and “runs Fortnite at high settings with a high refresh rate” are different buying goals. Epic Games publishes minimum, recommended, and Epic-quality PC requirements. Its recommended tier lists 16GB RAM, a GTX 960, AMD R9 280, or equivalent DirectX 11 graphics card with 2GB VRAM, and a Core i5-7300U or Ryzen 3 3300U equivalent. Its Epic-quality tier lists 16GB RAM, an RTX 3070, RX 6700 XT, or equivalent graphics card with at least 8GB VRAM, and a Core i7-8700 or Ryzen 7 3700X equivalent. Epic cautions: “If you just meet the minimum system requirements, Fortnite will run on your machine, but probably not on the highest settings.” Epic’s PC requirements were accessed October 7, 2026.

Those requirements are broad compatibility tiers, not a promise of a particular frame rate or a shopping list for every player. A $1,000 budget guide for 1080p gaming points buyers toward an RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti, a mainstream CPU, 16GB DDR5, and a 1TB NVMe SSD; those are category recommendations, not confirmed specifications for a particular live product listing. Newegg Insider’s 2026 guidance places that target in its $800–$1,000 1080p everyday-gaming tier.

Choose a target before comparing PCs
The same computer can feel different depending on resolution, renderer, visual settings, match conditions, and the refresh rate of the monitor. A 144Hz or 240Hz target describes what you want the display to refresh up to; it does not mean a particular PC will sustain that frame rate in Fortnite. TechGuided separates its guidance by intended use: 1080p 144Hz Performance Mode, 1080p 240Hz competitive play, 1080p High/Epic in DX12, 1440p 144Hz, and gaming while streaming. These are configuration targets, not tested results for the model discussed below. TechGuided’s Fortnite configuration guidance explains why the target matters.
#1 Best Overall
- Spacious Design: Measuring 21.1" wide and 14.1" deep, our lap desk comfortably fits most laptops up to 15.6". Extra room for accessories ensures convenience.
- Enhanced Functionality: Packed with handy features, including a 5x9" precision tracking mouse pad and a built-in phone slot for seamless work or video calls. Plus, enjoy ergonomic support with the integrated cushioned wrist rest.

- On-the-Go Convenience: With an integrated handle and lightweight design (2.8 lbs), our lap desk is portable for travel or moving around the house, offering flexibility in any space.
- 1080p Performance Mode: CPU performance can matter more when the goal is a high frame rate at relatively low graphical settings. Favor a recent six-core CPU as a practical baseline, but compare its exact model and generation rather than relying on a “Core i7” or “Ryzen 7” label.
- Higher visual settings or 1440p: Graphics performance and VRAM become more important as resolution and visual demands increase. Check the exact GPU model and memory capacity, not just a broad phrase such as “gaming graphics.”
- Streaming or heavier multitasking: TechGuided considers 32GB preferable for heavier streaming and multitasking scenarios; for less demanding use, it recommends 16GB or 32GB dual-channel memory according to the use case. Confirm how the memory is arranged—capacity alone does not prove that a system has two sticks.
A candidate configuration—and what its price does not prove
The Tech Search guide named a CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR configuration with an Intel Core i5-13400F and GeForce RTX 5060 8GB, showing a price of $749 on June 1, 2026. That is a historical price reported by the guide, not a verified October 2026 listing or a current deal. The source does not establish today’s stock, seller, shipping, warranty, return terms, or whether a live listing still matches the named configuration. The Tech Search guide is a starting point for identifying a configuration to check, not an independent Fortnite benchmark or confirmation of a current purchase.
Before treating any listing as a contender, confirm that its total live price is below $1,000 and that the product page names the same CPU and GPU. Do not assume every Gamer Xtreme variant has the same components. The cited guide does not report measured Fortnite FPS for this exact machine, and the other cited buying guidance is not a test of it. There is therefore no supported frame-rate figure to attach to this candidate.

Compare the full listing, not just its GPU
Use these checks to compare specific PCs available when you shop. A model family or a retailer category recommendation does not establish the parts in an individual configuration.
- GPU and VRAM: Record the exact graphics card and its memory. For example, the named candidate is described as an RTX 5060 with 8GB; verify that those details appear on the listing you are considering.
- CPU: Check the full model and generation. For Performance Mode and high-refresh 1080p play, a recent six-core processor is a sensible baseline in TechGuided’s guidance, but it is not a guarantee of sustained FPS.
- RAM: Look for 16GB DDR5 as a common target in Newegg Insider’s $800–$1,000 category guidance. Confirm whether it is dual-channel; consider 32GB if streaming or running heavier multitasking.
- Storage: Newegg’s category guidance calls for a 1TB NVMe SSD. Verify the installed drive capacity and whether storage can be expanded.
- Cooling and future changes: Check airflow, power-supply details, motherboard, and upgrade constraints. These can affect usability and future upgrades, but cannot be assumed from a brand or model-family name. Rig&Play’s comparison guidance identifies these as points to inspect.
- Total cost and support: Check the final price with shipping, plus the seller, warranty, and return terms on the exact listing. A previously published price does not establish any of them.
Can a $1,000 PC run Fortnite at 144 FPS?
It may be a reasonable target to investigate, but the available sources do not establish that the named PC—or every PC below $1,000—will sustain 144 FPS. TechGuided frames 1080p 144Hz Performance Mode as one configuration target, not a result measured on the CyberPowerPC candidate. Fortnite performance can vary with updates, map, settings, background applications, and match intensity. Without a disclosed test of the exact system under specified conditions, quoting an FPS number would be misleading.

If 144 FPS is your goal, match the PC to the intended resolution and settings, verify the exact CPU and GPU, and look for a test of that precise configuration under conditions comparable to your own play. A monitor’s 144Hz capability alone does not make the PC render 144 frames per second.

How to make the under-$1,000 decision
- Set the play target: Choose 1080p or 1440p, Performance Mode or higher visual settings, and whether streaming or multitasking matters.
- Filter by exact parts: Compare the listed GPU, VRAM, CPU model, RAM capacity and arrangement, and SSD size against that target.
- Check the complete machine: Review airflow, PSU, motherboard, and upgrade limits instead of assuming those are standardized across a model family.
- Verify the live offer: Confirm the exact configuration, final price below $1,000, seller, shipping, warranty, and return terms before relying on a recommendation or placing an order.
- Keep performance claims specific: Treat FPS as established only when the exact configuration has been tested with the resolution, renderer, graphics preset, and scenario disclosed.
